I bought this for home use. I like to scan all my bills and documents for paper trail and this scanner works perfectly with my paperport document management program. I love how it scans both sides at the same time which shortens the overall task. The print quality is great too and the wireless setup was super simple. I love how I can print from my laptop in another room. The paper tray doesn't hold too much paper so if you print a lot that might be annoying but I don't so I'm perfectly happy with everything! Couldn't beat the price either compared to other brands with same functions.

Only purchased a week ago but setup was easy right out of the box. Have rarely referenced the manual. Amazing print quality. Very happy so far!

Setup of the printer was easy. Wish they has included a CD for Mac but downloading from the web worked just as well. it's a 2 step setup process when installing the driver and software on a Mac. First you have to install the driver. Then have to go into Preferences and add the printer. Manual is terrible I must say. Network setting should allow more manual control. Wireless setup happened first time and was easy. Even changed networks and setup worked just as well. First copy time takes a moment. Color and clarity is great and clean. Sound during printing is quite as well. Looking to get a second one for my son in college to relieve him of inkjet issues.

Pro...Very nice printer, prints great, no paper jams, excellent scanner. Great directions on unpacking printer, well packed. Very well built. Well thought out functionality. Cons...Some of the worst installation directions I've ever seen. Setting up the scan utility is trail and error. Poor instructions on setting various networking options.

I was a Xerox tech for 25 years I can't believe all the features this printer has

Purchased 4 months ago. Trying to scan documents to USB is restricted and gave up trying to figure it out after 4 hours of reading the manual. Scanning to email does not work, keeps printing out a page that says error. Online, cannons solution to my problems are see your network administrator. Guess who that is and I obviously don't know the answer.

I purchased the printer two months ago. I have not been able to scan properly as of yet. Although I have set up the remote UI, it keeps telling me it needs to be registered so I am stuck scanning the old fashioned way. I cannot even use the feeder. Then, just last week it started going offline on me and every single time I want to print over wifi, I now need to reset my network preferences any time I want to print. I am so frustrated with this printer that I have wanted to dump it on the sidewalk and buy a cheapo printer because at least I know it will work. To make matters worse, it is nearly impossible to find fixes for these problems and they are not listed anywhere in the canon literature.

UI difficult to use and no instructions. Lack of detailed instructions on functions. Buggy with non-canon pdf programs. Starter toner cartridges? Really? Last, my honest detailed assessment was moderated for no reason. You improve products by receiving legit detailed critiques, not by moderating them out. customer lost.

I bought this printer about a year ago, and since I brought it home, I've had problems. I sometimes spend two hours trying to get it to print one document, with no luck and seemingly no trick as to get it to work consistently. The printer just doesn't respond, and waits for hours to print a job. In fact, it's so unreliable, I've resisted throwing out the old printer I bought this one to replace. I will be getting rid of the newer printer before I get rid of the old one. My advice would be to buy simpler. Perhaps this one has too many features to be of use, and is unnecessarily complicated. Not worth the money.
