Found this item that I could not find on other websites.. It was an original manufacturer item and not a knock off. Was hard to find availability otherwise.

This is the genuine Canon LP-E6N battery, not a third-party alternative, for a good price.

The battery seemed fine, but the package had obviously been opened and there was now way to tell if it had been used. But the price was right, so I shall live with it.

The battery was not in the original packaging, which was the first red flag. After taking the battery out and looking at it carefully, there were at least 6 scratches on it, telling me that this might possibly not be a new battery as claimed. I will not be buying from this seller again.

The battery is obviously a counterfeit: the entire package is in a sealed silver plastic bag but the package is not sealed; fake Canon hologram; production date/time stamp on the battery is shallow and crooked; the label is of a different blue color; the yellow cover has typo. The camera reports that this is a PL-E6, not a PL-E6N and Canon counterfeit team confirms it is a fake.

COUNTERFEIT - Not original Canon battery

This battery was listed as an authentic Canon battery. It was not. I sent the serial number: a31a5adc to Canon's counterfeit web site and was informed this was not a genuine Canon. "Although we have not had the opportunity to examine the LP-E6N battery that you purchased, from the images you provided, we believe that the battery shown is COUNTERFEIT."
