Canon PGI-5 Ink Cartridge - Pigmented Black

I fell for the cheap inkjet refill promises of theirs being just as good. It wasn't. The ink well was very small and the cartridge didn't last. Spend the extra money on the manufacturer cartridge. You'll get it back in time, shipping costs and less frustration.

Not much to say it's a genuine Canon ink tank it was a few more dollars then some refilled ones but it works fine and the shipping was relatively fast. I always buy the originals and haven't had a problem yet

I love my Canon printer. The multiple ink tanks save a great deal of money. You never throw away ink because one color is out. I only wish that this was available in the stores. It is nearly out of date but the printer is working great!

Love this ink because it goes in a printer that has all the colors separate. When I run out of one color, I don't have to buy all the colors and therefore there's no waste. It's one of the ways to go Green!

There are generics. There are OEM brand name. The problem with many printer inkjet replacements is cost when one considers compatibility, quality, overall cost, and timely availability. I found Walmart had the best chemistry so far. I only wish they would negate the shipping charge as I would buy in greater quantity.

Canon printers, like pretty much all consumer and commercial printers, operate on a disposable-razor business model. I got my Canon Pixma iP4200 for a steal -- not much more (it turns out) than the cost of the five ink cartridges it takes to keep it going. That said, the Canon PGI-5BK Black Ink Cartridge compares favorably with most of the other brands I've worked with. I haven't tracked actual pages per cartridge, but it's been about a year since I last bought one and I do a fair amount of printing. And I've never had any quality problems with any Canon cartridges, which is more than I can say for other brands.

The product can be purchased from various different stores. However, I found that by purchasing it thru Wal-Mart it is even cheaper then purchasing it thru Canon direct. Cheaper by $2.00 a cartridge. Notification was very prompt and delivery only too 3 days.

Walmart doesn't charge any less than everybody else, but they got the cartridge to me quickly, and shipping was free. I hate to spend so much on a dinky cartridge, but Walmart makes it as painless as possible.

I've only had experience with two of these so far. The first one simply quit working when it was still better than 80% full. The second one has been in use for just over one week with no problems. The price was right for one, but I had to buy two and haven't even gotten full use of one yet.
