Canon PIXMA TR8622a Printer, Scanner, Copier All-In-One, Wireless Color Inkjet for Home Office Use

Everything was highly satisfactory but when ordered online, I was first shown a form that offered delivery as the only option and another form then offered either delivery or pickup. That was a bit confusing as I would have planned to pick it up. However, the delivery was prompt and convenient so it was fine.

I owned this same printer before, and it gave me over 5 years of great service. Therefore, when the same model was on sale, I decided to replace it since one feature needed to be propped up to print (which was bothersome). It also came with 5 ink cartridges and was easy to set up.

Having had HP printers for a LONG time and, in general, being OK with them, my last one was a disapointment. Owned it about 5 years and suddenly most of the features stopped working. In reviewing new printers, I found the HP to no longer fit my budget (espically the auto ink fill) and the use of two cartridges. The Cannon TR8622 offered all the functions I currently need for home use and uses multiple cartridges. If I run out of a color, I only replace one color. Setup was OK but I stumbled a little on how to load paper (the online guide is a little lacking there). Also took a minute to realize you need to open the "control panel" to print. Wish it had a USB port for downloading scans but can do with the card input. Once a got past those confusions, everything else was great. I connected VIA the internet rather than cable. So far I love this over my last printer and I hope with have a long relationship.

I love the double sided option, which saves lots of paper. The only negative thing is my internet is flaky %26 drops the Bluetooth %26 we have to make sure it is on to print (but that is my location, not the fault of printer) also I had to teach the kids about PRINT options. If you switch to B%26W for everyday print outs; and use “double sided print” the ink %26 paper lasts a lot longer!

The price was $60 off. Great price. So far it works fine. I thought it was easy to set up the printer, but found a flaw in the computer setup instructions. When you use the http:// before the website the printer did not show up. I found if you leave it out the printer shows up. Easy to set up after that. Am still having difficulty printing from a iPhone or iPad.

Someone warned me that paper might jam if I printed too many sheets at a time. I thought maybe they'd gotten one that had that problem, but mine has it too. It prints great for several sheets, but jams if I print more than I'd say, nine or 10 in a row. I have however, increased the quality of my prints which makes the printer shake less, so I'll see if that helps. Otherwise, I've been inside looking for paper fragments, 2 or 3 of the maybe 10 small print jobs I've done so far.

No use manuals provided.You are required to go to the internet for instructions. What should have taken 10 to 15 minutes took me over an hour just to get it somewhat working. All to often the printer tablet says printer not available or it takes several minutes to find it. Then it may or not print. After hours of work I got it to ramdonly print from my Google Drive. I cannot find information on how to correct this. I can print from my smartphone photos when the printer becomes available. I am satisfied with the prints but they are nowhere as good as from my 9 year old Canon Pro 100 or my 15 year old now defunk Canon IP920 that this was to replace. I have had three Canon printers and one HP printer prior to this. All performed perfectly and we're easy to use. Now often the Canon print program does not see my Canon printers. This only started after I setup the tr8622a. It is nowhere as easy and reliable as the HP Smart program was There are for fee print programs that say they work on all Canon printers. The Canon print program says the same. I have always been pleased with Canon products, printers and cameras. They were straight forward and easy to use, until this I put this TR8622a onboard. I've had it for 5 days now and now I think I got it working properly. It is printing from all my apps and my mobile devices. Print and photos look good but photos need a little tweaking. That is common with new printers. Most of my printing is documents but I do a lot of photo prints. Canon has desimplified the choice, cassette (instructions say plain paper only) or rear ( your choice of many) to use. Instead of having just a choice cassette or rear tray, it has you go into change print settings to change the paper type on the front page dialogue to plain for printing from the cassette or a huge selection of paper to print from the tray. If you don't check this, you will possibly not print on the paper that you wish and might not get double sided printing. It takes ~30 seconds to do, which adds to the already considerable time the TR8622a takes to print. Don't check this and you potentially waste paper. Why not have a simple <10 second choice between cassette or rear tray. I've got 22 more days before the Walmart warranty runs out and I can't return it. I'll use it for another week or so and if I'm satisfied I'll keep it or otherwise I'll return it. I don't understand why the Canon instructions are so vague and apparently not inclusive. The power cord cold not plug into the multi-function printer. Tried several times until I thought I would break the plug! Telephoned asking if they would provide a replacement cable and was told NO! The multi-function was picked-up by Fed Ex the following day and though I was assured that the FedEx driver would have a return ticket/label he arrived without one telling me that the Leominster Walmart would confirm the return! I have yet to receive the confirmation even though I telephoned today but could only leave a message which has not yet been returned! Just in case I telephoned my credit card provider reporting possible fraud! BE VERY CAREFUL OF FED-EX DRIVERS AND WALMART CUSTOMER RETURNS!

This printer was easy to set up,but after a few weeks it kept getting a paper jam,no matter if paper tray is near full,half filled,or 1/4 filled,it will not print,and the jammed paper is in same spot underneath the paper tray. It also indicates offline often when it was printing,had to keep cancelling and reprinting. l am in the process of returning it,it had jamming problem one day after short return window time frame,but should be under warranty or Walmart should make exception for a near $200 purchase that only worked for a few weeks.

First, this printer is impossible to use. Even after setting the eco functions to off, it goes to sleep and to print, one has to physically go to the printer and turn it on for devices to recognize it. But actually worse than that is the fact that is only holds like 25 sheets of paper at a time. What good is that? I sincerely regret buying this printer.
