A perfect camera for the amateur photographer. It's simple to learn to use, relatively inexpensive and takes amazing wildlife photos. I took it to Africa on a safari and was able to grab closeups with amazing clarity. It has an awesome zoom lens and many features to adjust your exposure. Very satisfied with everything about the camera.

I've been waiting for this camera to be available for over a year. My Canon SX50 HS bit the dust last January. I really LOVE this camera as I knew I would because I loved my SX50 HS. I need a view finder so I had to wait for this camera to be available. It takes wonderful photos and I love the extra zoom capability. The response time of this camera is fantastic.

Great long range camera. Love the stability when trying to get a tough shot and the quality of the final shot. Just can't beat this model when you need to reach out and touch something. Just took it on a long 5Kmi road trip and it worked excellent. Got some super pics of wildlife even from far away! Love it!

It is everything that it is advertised to be. Incredible zoom of course, which attracted me, and no need to carry or even own multiple lenses. I wish it was lighter, but still far, far lighter than a camera with a lens of that length, let alone the combination of lenses that would be needed. Easy to transfer files to other devices wirelessly if you ever want to do that.

Like the long lens, decent pictures for sensor size. Very capable in good to medium light. But I knew that going in.

I upgraded from a 15 year old PowerShot A710 (7mp and 6x zoom) to the SX70HS. The operating system is very familiar, but the quality of the output is remarkable. I'm very pleased and the review probably deserves the fifth star, but I'm still learning all the features. Very pleased so far.

A little disapointed with picture quality. Owned the SX20 from its entry year and i get no better quality in the sx70 than i have with the sx20. You would think there would be a noticeable difference in technology improvement with picture quality. But the super zoom is what grabbed me. So if zoomed in the pictures are blah, time will tell how often i actually reach for this camera for trips over others i have.

The camera seems fine, but when I tried to register it with Cannon I got this message The serial number entered indicates this product was not intended for sale in the United States and is ineligible for registration and support in the U.S. It seems this may be a grey market product. Great price, but if something goes wrong Cannon will not repair it. I am returning it.
