It will soften the hair but no hold like a true pomade or butter. Has mostly the consistency of petroleum jelly. The smell is not overwhelming. Not good for a twist out on type 4 hair.

This is nothing but petroleum jelly with a sweet fragrance to it I spent a little over $14 for this crap please do not buy this. Cantu shea butter is No more than petroleum jelly. Than is no other ingredients. there is no other. No shea butter. light greasy mess. I purchase 2 small jars.

The jar is way too hollow it makes you feel like you are not getting the amount you are paying for. Look at the huge separation between the container and the actual part they put product in. Sorry but I can keep buying this
