These are cast iron plates, the same as Hampton plates that cost 2 to 4 cents per pound. these are half the price for the same quality. you will not find a better deal for grip plates. i dont understand people saying they are going to get some higher quality ones. just cuz you're paying more, doesnt mean you're getting better quality. i bought 4x25lbs and 4x45lbs. and like it says, the enamel is baked on to prevent chipping. i've had mine a couple years and they're still like new.

This Olympic 25 lb plate are high quality plates. I ordered 2 and they are identical, therefore quality control/manufacturing of these plates are consistent. I did not verify the weight to be accurate, however the 25 lb plates feel about right. The paint finish is as pictured and looks better in person. The finish is a high gloss gray textured color. The grips make it comfortable to handle and the plates slide on to my CAP Olympic bar easily. The prices for the 12 sided grip plates are affordable and I am planning to purchase more in the near future. Lastly, the Olympic plates arrived quickly (before expected date) and the packaging was mediocre, however the merchandise survived in transit. Highly recommend this product.

I almost didn't want to purchase these weights as they had an oddly shaped appearance and it seemed like everyone else was ordering the standard looking plates, but the basic complaint was that those were chipped or miscolored. Glad I took a chance. It was nice that I was able to pickup them up for free at my local walmart. They arrived In just 4 days very well packed. I couldn't even get that from Amazon with prime membership. Will add pic in the near future.

Was not sure to purchase due to shape but arrived for store pickup in perfect condition. Color matches my weight set as well.

Overall, this 12 sided 10 lb Olympic plate is decent. The design, weight, and manufacturing of this plate are fine. However, the paint finish easily chipped off (some areas) and dents easily as well (possibly from shipping/handling). With that said, these plates need proper care, handling, and storage. The value is affordable, although I intend to spend extra for a higher quality Olympic plates.

I like the product but Walmart gets a poor review for service, I ordered 45 lb plates X2 and got sent 2X35 lb plates I had to get ahold of costume service to correct the problem. I ended up keeping the 35lb plates and having Walmart pay the difference back to my card just so I didn't have to wait a couple more weeks to get extra weight. I for one will not order from Walmart.com again
