Cape Cod 36" x 11" x 11" Rectangle Black Self-Watering Plastic Window Box Planter

I bought three of these beautiful Cape Cod window-boxes to replace my 11 year old cedar boxes that were rotting. After researching choices, I found the Cape Cod boxes, which satisfied every must have feature I needed. They are "good looking", "no painting/maintenance", "self-watering!!!", "deep" and "easy to install." The first two boxes we installed were easy. Took just a few minutes each and 8 screws per box. The third box was tilted towards the house because of our wood shingle siding. The metal brackets that come with window-boxes makes for a tight and very secure install..... we could not figure out how to remove that last box so we could place shims behind to level it. We emailed the manufacturer directly, and they provided a solution. So not only is this a good product that Jet.com sells, but the manufacturer is great to work with as well. Perfect size for the front porch. It's a bonus that it will be self watering. We'll see! I didn't hang it, it's just sitting on the concrete, but better than cheap ones elsewhere.

Arrived on time (in 2 days!). Looks nice and sturdy, durable, and of good quality. The hanging brackets look very strong. I like the design!

Totally love the product adds 100% to curb appeal of my home. I even took photos of the planters to enter into a contest run by the manufacturer. Shortly after I put them on the porch two neighbors came over to ask where they were purchased. I searched many large stores in addition to the local nurseries and no one had a product like this one. These window boxes are beautiful AND functional. They look great on my home, especially since I dug out old evergreen bushes under my four front windows. Once you have planted, it's easy to water with the internal reservoir. If installing on brick, you will need to also purchase masonry screws. I hired a pro to do my installation and he was done in an hour with four boxes.

I have installed this ""window box"" on the outside of the railing on my deck to do away with too many pots on the deck for my annual flowers. It works perfectly & looks great. Too new to tell how the self watering aspect works but it appears as though it is put together to be just super.

The front panel bows in and has done so after putting it up. It looks nice with a previously purchased flower box. e

I ordered 36"" and 48"" boxes to replace the old copper flower containers for our second story windows. It is a nice complement to my front house and the best part is the water reservoir system. With the old copper planters I had to water daily.

I have planted my two four foot boxes and am extremely happy with them. It is very disappointing that I have to paint the BLACK brackets for my WHITE boxes. I was unsure if packing peanuts or other fillers would disrupt the roots trying to reach the self watering feature. I was told by an ""expert"" that the packing peanuts (suggested) may clog up the holes. Hoping the self watering feature is a winner since boxes seem to dry out so fast.

I was hoping that these planters wouldn't look so plastic-y. I've thought about sending them back but think they will be fine once the plants grow up. They are rather sturdy and seem like they will last. I hope the white color stays true in the bright sun and doesn't yellow over time.
