CAPSTAR (Nitenpyram) Fast-Acting Oral Flea Treatment for Small Dogs (2-25 lbs), 6 Tablets, 11.4 mg

Vet recommended. We have 1 small dog..and 2 cats(we purchase Capstar for Cats). Fleas were really bad. The first week we gave our Chihuahua 1 tablet ever 48 hours. Then after 1 tablet every 3 days. Continued with vacuuming and bedding in dryer every sing day. Also used a product called "Knockout" to spray baseboards and along all cracks and crevices around areas she frequented while treating our cats with the Capstar for Cats. We finally have relief! The flea life cycle takes about 3mo or more to break. It's a pain but results will be seen. Capstar will forever be our go to product.

Mixed pill with my dogs food and gave it to her like a treat to make sure she ate it. Put her in the crate and after 45mins she started yelping as if she was in pain. It lasted my 15mins and then she started to scartch and shake a lot. The area around her had dead and dying adult fleas. She stopped the yelping and was just shaking and scratching. I believe when the fleas got their dose of the medicine they were prob going crazy in her fur hence the yelping. I have a 5.5lb Shih tzu Poodle Mix and this product worked AWESOME!!!

I ordered the dosage for large dogs but received the dosage for small dogs. When I informed Walmart, they told me to keep the small dog pills and immediately sent out the correct pills. These pills really work. I keep them as an extra precaution when we take the dogs hiking or somewhere that probably has a great deal of fleas and ticks.

We had a flea infestation this year and we used everything possible to rid our pets of the disgusting little pests. My inside dog and my husband were eaten up and carrying fleas in the house! I used it on my dog (not my husband lol) and there was no more problem!! THANKS!!!!

I originally purchased these for a rescue that was absolutely covered in fleas. I was skeptical but desperate. I was pleased to see that within in an hour there were fleas jumping ship and dying right before my eyes. I’ve used them periodically ever since for several rescues. They’re great in combination as well!! I’ve found that giving them a pill..waiting a couple of hours then bathing them w a flea shampoo followed by their 3month flea treatment once their dry pretty much takes care of any flea problems. An added bonus is that the pills are said to be safe given “once a day” if necessary. That has allowed me to give them another pill if needed as their 3mo treatment is wearing off..or if they’ve end up walking into fleas at the dog park.

MY LITTLE ONE PULLED OUT HALF OF HER HAIR, AFTER SPENDING ALL THIS MONEY ON OTHR SO-CALLED SPRAYS/ETC., THAT WOULD WORK! THIS ONE WORKS AND DON'T REGRET ANY MONEY FOR MY BABIES COMFORT.....THIS LITTLE PILL WORKS MIRACLES WITH THE COMBINATION OF ORTHO BED BUG SPRAY.....THANK YOU CAPSTAR AND ORTHO BED BUG SPRAY!!!!! YOU BOTH ARE THE ONLY ITEMS I WILL USE FOR MY BABIES

The ease of snaking this pull into our fur buddy’s food was simple. It worked amazingly well the first day. You could visibly see the fleas dropping! The second day, all was lost. Dogs were infested and it was no longer dropping them like it did on day one.

Does not work as well as other products I have tried. Effects last a few days and then fade. To be effective it would take a much higher dosing schedule than what is recommended. Next time I will just go back to the vet for an injection that works must longer. This is not worth the price tag.

After opening the package to not only reveal the wrong brand (Capaction) but was also the wrong size for my dog (my dog is 12lbs). The item was recommended for 25lbs plus for dogs.

Had I just applied this to 1 dog I wouldn't be saying this, but I applied it to my 5 dogs. Prior to putting this medicine on them, I did give them all a Capstar to immediately kill any fleas that they may have had after being bathe. After the dogs were treated with this product they were once again scratching and biting because they had fleas. This took a period of about 7 days.
