The sponge works well for applying the gel. Check the ingredients. I had bought the Capzasin-HP creme which is Capsaicin 0.1%, and this gel is only Capsaicin 0.025% and menthol 10%. Both products work great but the creme is stronger and more effective than the gel with sponge applicator. Both are warm feeling even tho this has menthol in it Hope it helps you too..
EXCELLENT PRODUCT - MAKE SURE TO WASH HANDS COMPLETELY AFTER APPLICATION. IF YOU DON'T WANT THAT MENTHOL SMELL, USE THIS PRODUCT. READ INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USE.
I started using Capzasin years ago just to try to get through the day after developing sciatica from sitting in broken chairs or, worse yet, chairs that were too big for me during 12-hour work shifts and I've come to rely on it now that I've damaged my kidneys by using Ibuprofen daily for relief from that same condition. Capzasin takes a while to work because it takes a topical pain reliever longer to reach the nerves. Once this starts to work though it's a great help if you continue to use it regularly. You need to be extremely careful with it and wear gloves when you apply it and rub it in well. If you get it on your hands, it's next to impossible to wash it off. Dawn dish soap used to take it off, but CA removed the phosphates from laundry and dish soaps so they can't break down oils any more, and Capzasin on your hands means it gets in your eyes, your mouth, on your contact lenses, and everything else you touch. The applicator tip eventually falls off, and you can't rub the lotion into your skin as you should with it anyway; but aside from that, I like this brand, but as with everything else, it's getting priced out of reach.
This worked great for my knee and back pain. What I didn't like was when I took a bath 5 hours later after applying the medication. The heat of the medication intensified to a burning state in the bath, which was very uncomfortable. I took the quickest bath I've ever taken!
I could not work without it, I have arthritis in both feet and I couldn't make it without this product.
Love this campus and it really works on my legs and my feet. It's a good product thank you.
Smaller tube, then expected for the higher price it is. But thought, it would make a positive difference as i ordered two...but use more often, pain relief not as needed, for me. So, do not feel i would buy again. I'd pay the price, if it would work, but this is just for my joints, in pain. Ask your doctor, they'll know best, for you.
The sponge applicator is not very user friendly! I think I have more on my hands than my back. I would suggest the roll on. Can I exchange it for a roll on?
The "no-mess" applicator sponge fell off and made a big mess! Don't waste money on this item! There are many other options for muscle rubs and pain cream available that work much better than this one!
The second time my husband put this on his shoulder his skin got very red and he was on fire. I followed the instructions inside the carton and washed it with liquid dish detergent and then I put cooking oil on it and he finally got relief and was able to sleep. It said if it blisters you need to see a doctor. Everyone's skin is different and he just happened to have a reaction to it.
