Stunning and cuts through butter. I feel like a Japanese Samurai. With all the home cooking going on these knives were a long overdue gift to myself. I ordered the smaller set, saw how stunning they were and returned them for the 15 piece set. EXCELLENT customer service they were picked up and returned in days. I literally just stare at them in admiration. No ugly handle, forged and beautiful craftsmanship. Do not hesitate.
this is my first set of new knives. luv the quality, craftsmanship, and design of these knives. perfect set for any type of culinary kitchen ideas you have for meals.
I really like these knives. Not only do they cut well but they just look good. We went really minimal with our counter space and didn't want to put anything on there. But we put these knives and wood block on it and they look great
This is a beautifully designed knife set. I would also like to bring attention to Paulette in customer service. She is amazing!
Great knive and really beautiful on the black granit counter.
Love the size of the block, knives are really nice
I was chopping a cucumber and I must have made a surprised or "wow" expression on my face because my friend who was standing in front of me just giggled and said something about 'it must be a really good knife!' I guess I never knew what cutting through something like butter could be. I never realized that it really is the quality of the knife that can improve chopping skills. I was soon chopping that cucumber in thin, even slices, much faster than I ever have I faked myself out for that moment that I was a real chef! Not only are these knives gorgeous but for the price, they are hands-down better than any other brand I've always heard of as a 'good' brand.
Recently replaced an older set with this great seven piece cutlery. They look fantastic when stored on the block, and slice/cut even better than that. Highly recommend this set, as well as Schmidt Bros' Customer Service. This is my brand moving forward.
Excellent product and equally good customer service. I highly recommend these knives & this company.
I cannot lie: I <3 THE KNIVES! Could they have a bit more heft in the grip? Sure. But overall, these are the knives I reach for on-the-daily. I love the charred-black handles that contrast with the polished stainless blades. But since I owned several of these blades already, I'm just a bit confused why I had to purchase an entire set... just to get the Carbon-6 paring knife and 8" chefs! Make EVERY KNIFE available piecemeal. Also, I was surprised five or so years ago to discover that I am not a fan of the magnetic block. Why? Since I love to cook, I find that the clear-poly front simply collects aerosolized oil from my pans and makes for unnecessary cleaning that I do not have to deal with when using a classic 100% wood block. I was also surprised to find out that while the "downtown" block's footprint seems small, a classic end-loader block takes up far less real estate than a two-sided magnetic block such as this one. (Also, magnets wear out over time. Who needs that additional hassle, on top of the cleaning?) Do I think they're all well-manufactured and well conceived? Yes! But there are aspects to this set that will not sit well with a flamboyantly enthusiastic foodie. @Schmidt: please sell awesome knifes. Offer every knife as a standalone purchase. Also, please offer classic wood-block storage as an alternative to the magnetic+poly blocks.
