I am officially an only Carbone Marinara Sauce person. I have used ALL of the brands of sauce in the past and I have found Carbone's to be the best for everything that you might need marinara sauce for. The flavor is just the right amount of savory and sweet. I've used it in casseroles, with meatballs and just plain old spaghetti. An added bonus—the price is right too.
*For a sauce in a Jar* it is fantastic. Beats the pants off of brands like Rao's and Bertolli, and brands like Prego and Ragu can't even enter the conversation. Great flavor and a decent thickness (I prefer thick sauces that cling to pasta better). Don't get me wrong, it isn't perfect, but it is still far and away the best jarred sauce I've had from a typical grocery store or walmart.
I decided to try this pasta sauce after reading an article about it. I couldn't believe that there was a Marinara Sauce better than Raos. OMG this is the most WONDERFUL MARINARA SAUCE IN THE WORLD 🌍. I took a taste out of the jar and my knees went weak. I grew up eating at all of my Italian friends house 🏡 and everyone's MAMA made their own from scratch simmered to perfection sauce. This sauce tastes as good as any of their sauces or any Italian Restaurant in New York. I am obsessed with this sauce and keep at least 10 jars in my house. The all time Best,EVER!!!!!!!
Prego and Ragu are the classics, but if you want to go fancy with your next spaghetti meal, then you get this jar of tomato marinara, red gold. This is the closest to the authentic taste we had in Florence Italy. This jar is not cheap so save it for a special occasion or when you want to impress somebody.
This pasta sauce is next-level good. The flavor is rich, balanced, and tastes like it's been simmering all day in someone's nonnas kitchen. You can actually taste the tomatoes, not overly sweet, and the seasoning is spot on without being overpowering.
I watched 3 chefs review the ten pasta sauces on a Youtube video. Carbone was one of the top ranked sauces. They liked it better than Rao's, which my husband loves. There were two pricier, but this one was considered excellent in flavor and didn't cost an arm and a leg. I'm on a low sodium diet, and this one has 410mgs of sodium per 1/2 cup. Not bad. It's chunky with fresh Italian whole peeled tomatoes. No chemicals, just real, onion, garlic, basil, oregano, sea salt and olive oil. No garlic powder or dried onions. Some sauces have to add carrot puree to add sweetness to make up for their tomatoes lack of flavor. Carbone sauce can be a base to add mushrooms, Italian meats, or caramelized onions, that any Italian Grandma would be proud of.
This is my new favorite sauce! It tastes similar to raos but has a thinner consistency with lots of olive oil and crushed tomatoes. Normally I have to add stuff to marinara but with this I literally add nothing to the sauce. Only downside is that it does leave the dreaded orange stain so suggest using paper plates.
the carbone marinara has gotten quite oily lately. other than the extra oil, we love this sauce. i dont care about the price tag as long as it is good and this is one of those products. this is the only marinara we use. it doesnt have many chunks of veggies and it tastes the closest to homemade that we have found from walmart.
This is very good sauce. No sweeteners or unpronounceable ingredients. I originally ordered this because they were out of my usual brand. I read the ingredients and decided to try it. It was really delicious. I'd have given it 5 stars had the delivery person not dropped one jar on my porch and left without letting me know that I literally had sauce and broken glass all over my front steps! Absolutely amazing! Had they owned their mishap, I would have understood. Everyone makes mistakes. The mature, take responsibility.
I was quite disappointed with this marinara sauce. I had read enough outside reviews to just see what I was missing out on. It appears that I wasn't missing out on anything at all. Give me PREGO any day. There is really no need to look any further.
