Cardinal Gates Outdoor Safety Gate - Black

Arrived fairly quickly. Pretty easy to put up. Working great to keep pup on deck safely. The opening feature is easy to use. I read some thought was difficult. Not once you understand how it works.

We bought this gate as we needed a gate at the top of our deck steps so our puppies couldn't get down the stairs. Installation was relatively easy, just take your time, read the directions and be sure to measure. The latch does require some special handling as the gate needs to be lifted up when opening and closing. We are using it for dogs so we didn't have to worry about the dogs undoing the latch, but this is a great feature if you are using this for a baby or toddler. The gate is very light, but a small child would no be able to lift it and unlatch it.

An easy install particularly given I was attaching it to a railing spindle. It looks great! I am hoping the opening and closing operation will become second nature with use! One very minor complaint is their using a key ring when a carter pin would have been so much easier to install!

The gate appears to be made very well. It is excellent looking and matches the black bars on my deck railings. My only disappointment is that it is extremely difficult to open even with two hands!! It is not easy open as it implies. Other than that the purchase was fine.

The gate works as promised. The only reason I wouldn't give it a 5 star rating is that the available black and/or brown colors were considerably more money. I would have gone with a color but not for nearly 40% more money, as was the case with the brown.

The gate looks good and installed easily. I watched the install video on YouTube. Its awkward to open, usually requiring 2 hands. I bought to use as a dog gate.

Needed a wide gate to keep dogs on deck, and this does the trick. I find the mechanism used to get in and out easy, but everybody will need to be taught how to work it as it does not make usual sense. Have a hard time believing a toddler would be able to work it, either. No rust yet, and we live in Michigan.

this probably works fineif all surfaces are perfectly plumb, square, level otherwise, hire a professional assembly is less than "easy"
