My mom has very back arthritis and severe degeneration of her hop and squatting on the toilet is a painful experience. I purchased this product against my mom's wishes. She kept insisting it would not help. Well- thank God she was wrong! I like this product so much I purchased two for my house and one for my sister. We take turns caring for our 91 yr. old mom and this is definitely something that makes my mom more independent when in the bathroom. My mom calls it a "blessing." An added perk is that this product fits both round and oblong toilets. Very easy to remove and pop back on when family members don't want to use it. I don't bother removing it for me! Be sure user is aware to ALWAYS use both handles- bearing weight evenly!
Bought this for my 93 year old mother that lives in a senior living apartment. This was the perfect solution for safely using the toilet.. very easy for me to install, no tools needed, added the ideal height for my Mom. I am ordering a second one for my home!
This is exactly what we needed. It was scheduled to arrive in 10 days and arrived 5 days early! It goes onto the toilet quickly and easily, no tools needed and give a sense of comfort and stability to the user.
Sturdy, secure when sitting. Helpful for not bending down. Using for post op surgery care. Easy to install and easy to wipe down. Handles are helpful for holding while sitting.
The size is perfect. It can easily be removed for cleaning.
Did i miss the size in the description? The handles are so close that I feel squeezed sitting down. If you are bigger sized, like me, talk to your physical therapist or occupation therapist. They should know where to get ones that are safe for you. (I should have asked physical therapy where they bought theirs)
Im going to have hip surgery so I got the 5inch raised toilet seat. I love the height and the handles on the sides very secure in the front but just a little loose in the back part of seat when you get up! Not a big concern just have to get up slowly which isn't a problem. Great value!
Recipient was very pleased with the elevated toilet seat.
I gave this a 1-star because it is poorly designed. Despite being well made, it cannot be used by a normal sized male adult. The openning is simply too small. Graphic Description: In order to poop, you have to scoot far forward. In order to pee, you must scoot farther back than there is room to do; even then, you must stuff your p_ _ _ _ into the openning where it will become constricted to the point that you cannot pee anyway. If you have a week bladder and have to poop and pee at the same time, your poop will run down the back outside and your pee will simply go all over the floor. I think this product can be used for childtren and for adult females, but it simply cannot be used by normal sized (height/weight, etc) males. Secondly, the width and placement of the handles makes it difficult-to-impossible to wipe yourself. You actually have to stand up to wipe yourself. If you (like me) are buying this to make life easier after back surgery, this product actually complicated going to the bathroom. I found it much much easier to just lower myself down onto the regular toilet. Finally when I asked for a return, the seller never responded. Walmart was kind enough to intervene and give me my money back, but they may not always do that.
Does not sit on toilet securely. Safety hazard. Also handles not adjustable. If you are a little hippy not a comfortable fit. Would not recommend. Waste of money.
