I have MS and spend 2/3 of my day in a wheelchair. If you want a cushion that will make you a little more comfortable this worked well for me. I weigh just over 200 lbs. the cushion did not seem to crush much after a few hours. Be careful pulling into or under tables and desks because of the added height you may collide with them depending on clearance
I've lost a lot of weight due to cancer. Sitting on bones is not pleasant. This cushion has made all the difference in my quality of life. I'll have no more sores or pain. I read other reviews before purchasing this item and was concerned about it loosing it's resilentcy. If this cushion lasts a year, I will be happy. It makes that big a difference for me.
This one cushion is a replacement for a stack of three cushions and it is better. I bought two, one for each of my two chairs.
At 69 years of age and weighing well over 350 pounds, sitting has not been very comfortable for many years now. My brother told me about this and I bought one. I did not expect much but then it arrived and I started using it in my electric wheelchair. IT IS GREAT! It takes the pressure from my tailbone and does not flatten out as many other cushions have that I have bought. It really works.
I bought this for my wife who is a teacher. She teaches kids in their homes who are out sick from the school district. Many times she sits at the kitchen table at the student's house on hard wooden kitchen chairs all day long. She complained about her back hurting. Carrying a big cushion with all of her books was difficult so the handle on this one is great. The memory foam is also comfortable. It's pretty dense foam without being hard. My wife loves it!
I am a 5'3" tall (or short) female who weights 123 lbs., not overweight, somewhat small frame but not "tiny". I bought this cushion because I seem to have a pinched nerve at or around my tail bone area when I've been sitting a lot, then when I stand up I have a searing pain in that area and it feels like a rusty hinge is scraping. After my self-diagnosis, I chose this particular cushion based on some positive reviews. So far I find it comfortable, not sure how long the memory foam will retain it's quality shape, but I'm giving it 4 stars because it seems like decent quality, the memory foam has good response and it's plenty big for me, but that's relative. The cover is starting to pill from just 2 weeks of usage, as it's some type of man-made fabric like polyester; otherwise I'd give it 5 stars. I will continue to use it to see if it helps with the pain over time, but I think I might have to go see my chiropractor too.
I had back problems and sciatica, and needed a cushion for my chair at work. Over the past week that I have had it, my problems have gotten better, and I am glad I got it. This isn't a miracle product, but it has helped me, and I don't think a more expensive cushion would have done any better. It hasn't squished flat, like some reviewers said it might, even though it is only one inch memory foam and two inches regular foam-- the amount of cushioning seems just about right for me. I am about 187 pounds and 6'4". I thought a lot about whether I wanted a solid cushion or one with a notch cut out, and I am glad I got one with the notch cut out-- you can turn it around if you get tired of having the notch under you and it works just fine, with a cushion still under your legs even when it is rotated 180 degrees. My wife had bought uncovered 4 inch memory foam to put under our mattress pads (which is cheaper). However, I tried sitting on that and still preferred sitting on this thinner covered cushion. I also like having a handle to carry it around.
I bought this as a gift for my 70 year old mother who could never sit for a long time because it was too uncomfortable. She seems okay with it and wants to keep it to use when she goes to the ball games and has to sit on the bleachers; however, it's not the appropriate size for her to get the intended use. She is a petite 5', 115 lb Asian woman so in order for her to sit far enough back to actually have her tailbone over the cut out means that she can't bend her knees because her legs extend beyond the cushion. She uses it on her recliner right now because she says the cushion is the same size as the seat of the recliner but I'm a little disappointed that she can't take it with her and use it everywhere as I had hoped.
I bought many of these cushions over the last year,,,I have this annoying tailbone pain which starts to attach after 10-15 minutes of sitting down,,,most of the other cushions get squezzed totally under my weight.. this one does too but not totally so it still raise your behind a little above chair,,and it is comfortable to sit at. So to make the long story short,,it works some how specially if u r not overweight..if I am the owner of one of those companies i would suggest more firm yet soft material that holds up and don`t get squished.
PRO: Well made, nice fabric, fair price. CON: I've been experiencing a tender possibly bruised tailbone and hoped this would relieve the pain, if anything it's made it worse. It really isn't causing any distance between my tailbone and the chair.
