Carlson Extra Wide Pet Gate with Metal Frame and Small Pet Door, Adjustable for 29" to 36.5" Openings, Durable

Needed this gate to keep dog out of rooms with slippery floors after an injury. Husband had no issues installing it. It looks nice and functions as it should. I think with any of these gates if you have a very large heavy dog that's determined to get past it and jumps, it could weaken it but it serves our needs well. We have a 62lb large dog. I find the way to open the gate (push button and slide) is very easy and for that reason I wouldn't recommend this gate for small children. I think they'd be drawn to the button and be able to figure it out easily. Great pet gate though. This was bought after buying their larger expandable gate needed for a 54" opening that also works well.

This is a very good dog/cat gate. I originally bought one for the utility room (the “cat condo “) so the cats could get in to eat, relax on their cat tree, and to keep one of the dogs out of the cat box. I ended up getting 3 more to keep all of the animals out of the bedrooms, as the cats could would sneak in and get locked in. They also keep the dogs out, as one of them keeps chewing on the kids toys when they forget to close their door. These gates are well made, very easy to install, and have been a life saver!

I saw this product at someone else's house and had to check it out. I read the reviews before buying and I agree with them all . It's a great product and it looks nice. We had plastic baby gates for the door ways along with a spring loaded curtain rod . We trained our labs not to go over curtain rod. Even when I leave the door open they will not go thru it the bottom white piece looks like the curtain rod. We have it so it open in the room we want and we don't latch it tight so we can still use one hand to open it. We took the smaller door right off the cats use it no problem and our labs are just way to big to even try to fit thu the opening. We like it so much we bought a second one for the other door way so now the dogs have another room to go into . No more taking the gate up and down or walking over a curtain rod. I haven't had the grandkids over to see if it keeps them off the stairs. I did site to store pick up it took about a week. It just looks so much nicer.

I bought this gate to keep my roommates larger dog out of my room. The dog weighs around sixty pounds, and ate my smaller dog's special food. Among other issues, he'd often devour her food in a blink and being disabled getting some replacement isn't easy. I call the gate peaches's shark gate lol. It's pure perfection after I got past a little .As pictured a small cat or dog can use it and it keeps the. Larger out. There are only 2 issues. one the door does t swing both ways. Which would be helpful when arms are full. Second it took me getting help to get the tenson bolts into place so the gate could close. Other wise I love it...

I have a 16 year old yorkie and a 1 year old pitbull. I want the yorkie to be able to go to his bed without the pitty bothering him. This really worked out, it was pretty easy to install and the gate has extenders just in case it doesn't fit your door. But it's only a couple of inches. As for the pet door, my dog is just barley small enough. He only walks through it, when he was first testing it he kept hitting his back on the top. I had to give him treats so he would walk slower then it. My dog is 8 inches standing, 8 lbs and 4 inches horizontal. If you have a pet that size or smaller then that it should fit perfectly. If you have a bigger animal that likes to jump I would not recommend this gate, it wouldn't be tall enough. I had my friends pitbull over for a bit and she tried to jump gate, we stopped her, but she could've if she wanted too. My pitbull is much too bulky to be able to jump anything.

Ordered two gates. One was flawed in that the adjustment screw wouldn't go into the hole all the way. There was a blockage probably from the soldered joint on the inside. Fortunately the spot I needed it installed required an extension panel (included are two sizes) and that worked well - actually, because I ordered 2 gates I used two of the narrow extensions - one from each gate- instead of the larger one. The second gate worked perfectly in a regular doorway. The small pet door works both directions and can be latched closed. Note that the big gate only opens in one direction. AND that the gate does not APPEAR to close properly UNTIL you have the ends tightened enough. It really does work. You can do the gate with one hand but it isn't that easy to do. I have done it though. Takes a bit of practices. Really easy with two hands. Close and lock with one hand easily. All in all a great gate for the money and does the job of letting adults through the gate, letting the cat get to the kitty litter and keeping the three year old out of the bathroom and kitty litter! I would definitely purchase a third if I found the need or if I needed a baby shower gift!

the screws you turn to secure the gate to the doorway are very flimsy and if you don't get a tight fit the gate door doesn't close all the way. the pressure from tightening the screwsmakes the gate latch that goes into the hole in the gate meet up and attach.

It's pretty good. I don't like this gate latch system as much as others because you have to make sure it's lined up correctly more carefully. The pet door swings closed on its own so I had to tie it back to keep it permanently open. Wish there was an option to remove the pet door completely. Fits my fat black cat but keeps out my fat baby.

Walmart sells returned merchandise without checking it first. This item arrived in a previously opened and poorly re-taped box. The box was not damaged, but the item itself was completely bent out of shape and one of the fasteners was stripped. I needed to use this immediately so took almost 2 hours trying to fix it to make it work. It is still bent, obviously damaged by whoever bought this before. Terrible service on Walmart's part. My only option is to return the thing. I need to use it now, don't have time to take it all apart again and certainly don't have time to take it to a store to return. Terrible. Won't buy anything like this from them again.

We walked in once with our 6 week old puppy 's head stuck and his mama trying to push him through,which made it worse. That night another puppy got stuck at 2 a.m. -his screeching could wake the dead.That is when we said enough and took it down, 4 days of use.
