perfect for my needs
I bought this to use as a pet gate (cats) rather than a baby gate and it works perfectly for my needs. I use the tension mounting but if you are using it for a toddler, I would go ahead and use the wall mounting method. I wanted it specifically because it was the tallest one I could find in order to keep the cats from jumping over it.

Tall gate with pet door
The gate was easy to install and if the dog would stop squeezing thru the pet opening, it would be wonderful. Also, some how the cat managed to unlatch the large gate when she jumped over. We have addressed that problem by tightening the whole gate in the opening so it is tougher to open it now. Love the gate. Can't wait for the 35 Black Lab to grow enough more so she can't crawl through.

Xtra Tall Pet Gate
Exactly what was needed to keep our Ibizan Hound out of the kitchen and home office. We did use the caps to give the gates more stability and security. Also, consider which way you want your doors to swing before securing them.

Dog gate
I have a 18 lb dog and he was able to knock the gate down since the 1st day. There have only been 2 days since I got the gate that I have been able to barricade the gate well enough to prevent him from getting out. I have not yet tried attaching the cups into the wall, but that is my only hope to get this gate to prevent him from getting out.
