Never know if they are going to have my favorite breakfast drink at my local wal-mart. So now I can order in bulk and have it delivered at no extra price. This is the best protein base when you add 1/2 cup milk and 1/2 cup greek vanilla yogurt then throw in some kale and frozen berries....blend...and you're off.
My husband and I drink Instant Breakfast (old name for Breakfast Essentials) almost every morning. We love chocolate milk and this feels healthier because it has no added sugar, but does have added vitamins. I like to have mine partially frozen so it is kind of slushy - like a semi-frozen fudgsicle!
I got this for my daughter, who doesn't eat breakfast but I thought she should have something. She LOVES the taste, is quick and easy to prepare. It dissolves quickly and easily into the milk, no chunks, no stirring for a long amount. It really is delicious, tastes just like chocolate milk. It also is giving her the vitamins and minerals, which is what I want. We will deftly continue using this and buying this! Very happy!
This was for my daughter wo drinks it every day
I really enjoy the Carnation "light start".. Local Walmart has been out of the "light start" version for sometime. I was so pleased to get it by mail.
I use unsweetened vanilla almond milk with the Carnation Light Start every morning. Low in carbs & sugar but high in vitamins & nutrients. Fits with my Diabetic diet quite nicely.
One of my hospital nurses recommended this. I was still nauseous after my stroke. This settles my stomach and provides the nutrients I might otherwise miss. I now add berries and banana plus cinnamon and ginger to this with skim milk. Very refreshing and filling.
This is the best of the sugar free drink mixes I have found, does not have the "after taste" of some others. Lower calories, fairly low carbs. I mix it with a little more milk than it calls for even a little water otherwise it is too sweet. It is more like chocolate milk, some pre-mixed versions of this or other brands are too thick almost slimy and too sweet. Wish it came in the larger canister. My 96 year old Aunt likes it for a nutritious between meal snack but she won't drink some of the pre-mixed other nutritional shakes.
I was very disappointed that walmart chose to discontinue stocking the ONLY sugar-free Carnation Breakfast Essentials powder formula. The store is full of other powdered formulation, but discontinued the only thing that diabetes, older individuals, and those of us who do not use sugar in our diets. What were they thinking?! I was told it would be the same cost to buy it on their website. WRONG! The $4.91 cost on the website is $0.74 higher per box than the $4.17 we were paying per box to buy it in the store! So now it is more expensive to purchase and less convenient. Thanks, WalMart. I hope that Walmart revisits this short-sighted decision to discontinue the ONLY sugar-free powder formulation. By the way, chocolate malt flavor would be nice to try. It is not listed on the website to order at any price. Why ask about it if we can not order it. Of course, no one reads these at corporate so nothing will change.
The product was as expected. However this shipment was a disaster! I purchased 2 boxes (8 pks. each). The two cardboard boxes and product were shipped in a white plastic bag. It appeared that heavy items/boxes had been set on top of my package during shipping. Of 16 packs, 14 were damaged and the product poured out into the plastic shipping bag. This was unsanitary plus I have no idea how much would go into the glass to mix with the milk. This nearly $12 purchase was a total loss. I will be calling Walmart.
