I was happy to have found this yarn I needed for a project, as it is a discontinued color. The yarn arrived quickly and was as described. Beautiful color and very soft!
Nice yarn fromCaron. Knits well and if ysing two strsnds you can natch vsrigation after a yard or two.
My mother taught me how to crochet when I was 5 years old, 65 years ago; she always used Red Heart Yarn only, and I learned that from her too. Recently, my Darling Granddaughter Sierra asked me to make her some bikini-style bra tops she'd seen online to wear while we were camping and swimming this summer; I told her of course, but she'll have to choose and buy the yarn for them. She did, but it wasn't Red Heart; it was this Caron Soft yarn, which I'd never used before, I thought I'll give it a go, see what happens. Working with this yarn is a dream; it does not split the strands when it's not supposed to, and my hooks glide easily through the loops. It's a very strong yarn, very dependable, no pieces of fluff come off like some cheaper brands, is colorfast, the colors repeat at regular intervals that are evenly spaced and there are no breaks where they were retied in the middle of the skeins like some other brands have. I couldn't be happier with the way it works up, and with the finished products. My Granddaughter is VERY happy to show off her new bra tops too!!
I chose Simply Soft for a baby blanket because it is soft and completely machine washable. Being acrylic means that it wears extremely well, and I knew that some things turn out to be a favorite item and will be drug around, so I wanted it to be durable and machine washable. This yarn comes in great colors with no dye lots, another plus.
I am in a group of women who meet each week to knit and crochet baby hats for three hospitals. We only use Caron Simply Soft usually in plain colors. I tried two Speckle yarns, one called "Galaxy" which is blue and dark blue, and the other called "Wisteria" which is lavender and purple. I loved the way they turned out and so did the others in the group. I've since bought two more colors "Lipstick" which is pink and red, and "Abyss" which is blue and green. If you like mixing colors, I highly recommend Caron Simply Soft Speckle yarns.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] There is room for ruffles! I was inspired by someone who made ruffled scarves, and making 2 different colors of them! So I thought that Caron yarns would be my inspiration! There are so many colors to choose from, so surely there is plenty of room for ruffles! Also, there are different patterns of ruffled scarves, so it's a joy and lots and lots of opportunities! Thank you for all the beautiful colors of Caron! Lots of room for ruffles!!
I make NICU blankets and chemo caps for a great organization called Knits of Love. Caron Simply Soft yarns are one of the acceptable yarns that can be used for these items. I love the quality, value and wide range of colors. Since I live in a small town with limited yarn selection, I heavily depend on Yarnspirations for their selection.
I and many others love this yarn. And not all are human. I've made many afghan's, shawls, slippers and other things out of the Caron Simply Soft yarns of all colors. Beautiful colors, soft and pleasant to use, washes up nice every time, plus a few types of yarns such as the speckle and other patterns that are not coming to mind right now. If it's Caron Simply Soft, I have used it. Some of the dogs and cats in our family have taken over the use of afghan's and shawls. Try it and see for yourself. I will never stop using it for sure.
We got one skein of the yarn as a Christmas present. When we tried to get more, it was unavailable but we asked online to be notified when it was back in stock and were notified shortly after. We ordered 2 more skeins and it came quickly. Here’s a picture of what my mother-in-law made. There was a little left over to do the trim on future projects.
I ordered Caron Simply Soft Yarn - color Dark Country Blue, to crochet a sweater for my adult grandson. It is lovely yarn, does not split, and very soft. I will be purchasing this yarn again for future projects. The yarn was also delivered very quickly.
