This is super lightweight easy to tuck away or carry with you. When you pop it open, a little light comes on it's nice and bright. If you're just looking for a little magnification to quickly see something, like thread a needle, Look at a splinter, or the tiny make and model numbers on an item. This is perfect!. My husband and the kids will find many uses for this. For the price it will do great for most people. If you struggle with low vision like myself, this might not work for you. I need one for more for every day use. Stronger magnification and a little bit larger.
I bought them before gave 2 away then said to myself I need one in the Truck one in the kitchen to read very small print directions one in the bedroom and one for my spouse!
This is really nice. I bought to keep in my purse (inside a padded makeup bag to protect it). Because the Store Shelf tags are So Hard to read the tiny print. It is great that it magnifies 5 times
Good to see small print on labels and other items. The LED light is bright but can distort some printing. It is not necessay to use LRD light if you keep cover from triggering it
It is a very good magnifier and it is very helpful for shopping when I need to read the fine print on products at the store. My husband uses his all of the time and we purchased two more for our friends. Thank you for carrying a quality useful product!
Nice little magnifier. It's smaller than it looks. It's handy though and doesn't take up much space if you need one for traveling. Great for reading pill bottle. It didn't come with batteries which for the price is not an issue. It runs on 3 AAA. The light is strong. It's a bright one. I like it.
This is a review for the Carson MiniBrite Powerful 5x LED Compact Magnifier with Light %26 Protective Cover, Slide-Out Magnifying Glass The lens is 5x aspheric which will give you clearer view. It is great for checking coins features and minting dates. The size is compact and the built-in lens cover /switch is clever and convenient. If you need to use this while shopping, it is absolutely needed to protect the lens. If I were to improve this product, I would suggest to the company to switch from the three AAA alkaline batteries to the coin lithium batteries and adding one or two additional LEDS. I am tired of alkaline batteries leaking and causing corrosion. Lithium ones do not have similar problems. I remove the batteries after use. and keep them in a pill bottle and rubber band the bottle to the magnifier. Using a glass lens would be a more durable and costly option, but an appreciated choice too. Walmart also sells an Equate 5x magnifier and it appears to be the "minibrite" rebranded to Equate. I would check this out and buy the cheaper version.
Magnification is so strong, I could not focus correctly to read what I needed to see. Guess I need a full page magnifier.
The built-in light is nice, but it is very difficult to line up text and use it to read a few lines of text. You can zero in on a few words, but unusable for reading any laege amount of text. Would not recommend this product. Have had better luck with the old fashioned round magnifying glass.
I've bought several of these older “Mini-Brites” from this same company and;I Loved them/I kept buying more! Here are the ways the older models were much better than the newer ones are:There Lenses were made out of glass ;which bodes a much clearer more defined picture, the glass Lense is also bigger;(the size of the Lense on this new one you couldn't see to get a splinter out of someone's hand, and, the brightness of the Light is severely inefficient!!!!!! *Not happy with it! Don't Like it! It's virtually useless!!!!!
