My brother in law was looking to replace this part on his sink. We researched this part and found it at Walmart for a very good price. Installation was very easy and it is working really well. Highly recommend looking on the Walmart site for anything you might need.
This was the perfect fit for my Moen kitchen faucet. It wasn't the fix for my low pressure problem, but it didn't hurt to replace the part and it was easy to do.
Delivered got it. It was original parts and perfectly awesome.
Easy to install and durable, I can get 3 - 5 years of moderate use out of the cartridge before needing to replace.
Its a good practice to keep a cartridge in your tool box or kitchen cabinet. When you sink starts leaking because the cartridge suddenly broke, you want one on hand to make the repair. Half of the battle is having the part you need in your possesion,
I bought this One-Handle Pullout faucet in 2019 and it started leaking in September 2022. The problem traced to the cartridge retaining nut which had loosened over time. I simply tightened the same/original plastic nut and replaced the handle. The nut came loose and leaked again 3-1/2 months later (New Year's Day, 2023). Tightening again for a temporary repair, days later I eventually got through to Moen at 1-800-289-6636. The phone rep was excellent. After confirming I had their faucet (original installation guide, but no receipt), she ordered me a replacement cartridge and retainer nut at no-cost. The original nut has a standard continuous-thread design (no position-retainer) and is prone to backing-out/loosening over time. The new retainer nut has a discontinuous/split-thread of some sort, designed to jam in place. Installation instructions say: "Tighten the nut "Hand Tight" then rotate an additional 90 degrees (1/4 turn)." But, since the jamming resistance begins to occur with every 1/4 turn during initial tightening, it's a bit of a guess what "Hand Tight" means. (It's probably something near a full-turn past the point where jamming resistance is hand-tight with no tool.) But using a 13/16 socket (alone) in my hand gave a decent sense of "reasonably tight" before applying the final 1/4 turn.
Bought the Brecklyn faucet [Model 87557SRS] spot resist faucet about 2 years ago and the cartidge only lasted 1-1/2 years. Think I only had to replace a cartridge one time in 10 years with my old Moen. Was sent a 1255 cartridge under warranty last November and now this new 1255 cartridge has failed again in less than 6 months. I have water all over the place. Also, the special spot resist coating has been peeling off may spot resist faucet [87557SRS]. No, we have not used any abrasives or abrasive cleaners on the faucet. Used to respect the Moen quality, but it has been nothing but a hassle and starting to think about replacing this faucet with another brand. See some of the same issue in other reviews.
If I could review this product, I would could properly review this product I would buy all I have to say is it was priced great. It was going to be here by the next day, a week later still reaching out, at least 3 separate times and it was nowhere to be found. This wasn't a want. This was a need for my parents. They didn't have any way to wash her dishes so it was very disappointing nonetheless, I never got my product an update but was randomlyI refunded with out explanation, that I didn't want but the worst part wasn't that it was how much wasted time with no explanation. so if you see this item price for $10 somewhere don't try to save the extra money you won't get it. It's usually priced depending how good the sale you can get one from as low as 20 mid 20s or 33 like it's priced on Moens official site. This may have been a have been a great product. The world will never know.
These cartridges fail after a couple years, but worse than that, the locking nut is loosened by day to day use of this sink, so you have to take it apart and tighten it every few months or risk a major leak and water damage
I am experiencing the same problem many have already complained about your Moët 1255 replacement cartridge, one year after we installed our 87650, we had leaks, water damaged items below the sink. One year later, to the month, we now have the same issue. Reading many of the reviews with the same problem with the 1255 cartridge; 1-why hasn't Moen fixed this cartridge design problem by now? 2-who has the time to wait 2+ weeks for a warranty replacement with a busy kitchen? Moen needs to fix this, which I'm guessing it will not, considering the problem still exists after years of complaints by Moen's customers, like myself. This review will go on the Google Reviews site for encouragement, should this issue not be resolved in a very timely manner by Moen.
