I didn't expect the light to be as bright as it was. It has 3 different lighting options. I will be ordering more.

This flashlight/lantern really has some power. It's super bright but can also be set at a lower level. There's also a strobe light mode where it blinks rapidly. Can be used as a flashlight or lantern all with a quick movement. I love that you can hang it from either end. The one end is a closed loop and the other end has two open ended hooks to hang from a cord. Overall I really like this lantern. It's compact, yet mighty!

Where to start??? Such an Amazing little product!!! I love that it is so bright and has 3 settings. It can be bright or have a soft glow, as well as a strobe emergency type feature--perfect for possible break downs in your car. It starts as a lantern, but pop the top off and you have a flashlight. The only thing missing is a strap to hang over your wrist. It does have metal type hooks on either end to hang from a tent, etc. The fact that it water resistant and comes with batteries is a huge Bonus. The directions are incredibly simple as well. I am very pleased that it is safe around children and pets. I'm going to pick up an extra one to leave in my car. This also makes a great, practical & economical gift for those hard to buy for friends and family members.

My new Cascade Mountain convertible lantern and flashlight is a camping must have but can used for so many things like hiking, power outages roadside breakdowns. It has high, low, and strobe which is great for emergencies or you remove the shade and it becomes a flashlight. It can hang or be table top. It's also waterproof. I would definitely recommend this item. Thank you.

This is such a cute and powerful little lantern! When you need light, it is usually for camping or if you lose electricity; for both of those instances, compact (small but mighty) is needed! Nobody wants a big huge lantern to pack into a campsite- nor does anyone want something big and bulky in their emergency light spot! Because this is also a flashlight, it can also be used when extra and concentrated light is needed (like removing a splinter or seeing to the back of a deep cabinet or recess. The three double AA batteries will run for ten hours- that is pretty awesome! I like the metal ring and hanging options on each end of the lantern (the one end has two “C” shaped, hinged, metal pieces that are open ended or can be put together to make an “O” kind of ring. Lots of options- especially if you are in a tent and want to hang the light. It has two “brightness” choices: bright and super bright! As well, the third push of the power button will turn on strobe light. The lantern and flash light are also water resistant (definitely a must if you are camping). I definitely recommend this- especially for the price!

Great little portable light! Wish it was rechargeable… Top of metal tends to get pretty warm after on a bit. Should be considered if using for a lantern while camping, not super hot, just warmer than normal led lamp. Overall, very well made and appears to be durable!!! Very much recommend…

A nice, useful lantern flashlight. If they changed 2 things, it would be great. I was frustrated with how difficult it is to get the housing on and off. If you only want to use this as a lantern, or a flashlight, this won't bother you. It's only while trying to switch between that I have trouble. On the positive side, the housing does not fall off easily when you are using it as a lantern.  Additionally, once you have the housing off, you have to store it somewhere. It would have been so much nicer if it had fit on the other end of the flashlight. That being said, I like how it is bright, lightweight, and has hooks on both ends. I really like the hook on the top end, it is well designed in 2 close fitting pieces so that you can securely hang it on a line. I also like the rubberized bottom, it's comfortable and feels like it can be dropped and still work. Pros: lightweight, bright, hangs on both ends, nice rubberized bottom, housing stays on when using as a lantern Cons: housing difficult to take off and put on, O ring in the battery compartment seems a bit flimsy Overall, very useful, and well priced at around $10.

it provides the same light/lumens as a low-grade flashlight. It's very cheaply made. none of the parts snap in place. The reflective tape is pointless. You'd be better off buying a cheap flashlight instead of this. the only reason i can see buying this instead of a flashlight would be the ability to sit in a lantern fashion. i ended up giving this to my 5 yr old as a toy, and she loved it.
