Good concept that may or may NOT fit your horse's topline, so be prepared to move on to Thin-Line pads, 5-Star shims, an adjustable saddle (e.g., WOW saddle) or treeless saddle, etc., and don't forget to 1) balance the ration for protein (amino acids) and minerals and 2) find out if your horse has "kissing spines" (some lordosis/sway-backs are primarily caused by kissing spines that often need surgical relief). The Cashel Cushion Swayback Pad has graduated thickness that is somewhat firm yet has 'give' - not sure if that will last beyond 4-6yrs of use, of course. It did not work for my horse, but might work for yours - if it does work, recheck the saddle fit because he/she might not need this much padding at some point, as the topline recovers.
