Casio Men's Vintage Calculator and Calendar Watch CA53W-1

Before you read this review, know there's a model called the CA-53W-ER that has a backlight that illuminates the display so you can see in the dark. Unfortunately, the CA53W-1 doesn't have a backlight, so it's limited to daytime use only. The Casio CA53W-1 is one of the most reliable pieces of technology a person can own. Don't be fooled by the "men's..." In the title, this is a perfect gift for the ladies, too! Features: Time (Obviously) %26 Month/Day/Year Calculator! Alarm Second Time Stopwatch I like having two times, when I was deployed to Iraq, or when I lived in WA state, I could keep track of what the time in Florida was so I could call my family and know they weren't asleep or at work. Unfortunately, this model I'm reviewing does not have a backlight So if you're going to buy this Calculator watch, buy the CA-53W-ER model. It has the same square design, its not the rectangular one, so don't worry. I hope this review helps.

Great watch. All functions work good and waterproof. Only bummer is no backlight. This makes this cool watch almost useless in the dark. Great other than that.

I always enjoyed the calculator watch

This watch was advertised as "The dial is illuminated with a non-obtrusive blue light for easy visibility". There is NO LIGHT or Illumination! I had a choice between buying a new watchband for my current Casio Calculator watch and getting a new watch. Since this was advertised as having a light, I bought it. I have been using Casio calculator watches for over 30 years. The early ones had lighted faces. While the later versions are less expensive, they no longer have the lighted face. This is a real aggravation at night.

Needed a new watch. I don't have a smartphone to keep track of time so I'm still in the watch era. This is a great little watch with a few features. I found out my fingers are a bit big for the buttons and I'm a skinny guy...but I manage anyway.

If you were a fan of these styles back in the day then you will like this one. The style has not changed since the original calculator watch. I bought this for my boyfriend and he really liked it. The buttons are kind of small and somewhat hard to press because they have to be to fit on a watch but if you want it for the occasional calculation then it is a good buy.

I only wish that it had a back light, but everything else is great!

We got this for my husband who works in a warehouse and has to do quick math every now and then. It seems to be doing the trick. He's happy with this purchase. I didn't give it 5 stars because he said that it would be nicer if it had a light so that he could see the numbers in a dimmer environment. Overall it was a good buy.

I've worn this model forever and am so used to having it that I always repurchase the same. It's handled the elements well,the battery lasts, the one weakness is the band, over time it hardens cracks then breaks. Otherwise and even so I'll continue to wear this model as long as I can still find one. It's a Classic!

the calculator watch is very small, I feel its almost for a child. Also very hard to change the time and date due to button being extremely difficult to push, needed a pin to do it. Design is the only thing I liked because it reminds me of having in my teens but I don't recall it being this small.
