Many features for good price.

exinkie January 12, 2014

I bought an "atomic watch" earlier that did not set itself as promised. This one does. The price is excellent for all the features included. My only objection is that it could not be shipped to my local WalMart to avoid shipping charges; I had to pay to have it shipped to my house. All in all, though, I am happy with it.

Atomic Time accuracy!!

rahslo August 30, 2013

This watch sets itself by receiving the satellite signal. You will need to enter your home time zone by following the directions in the users manual. This takes about 5 minutes including turning on the auto daylight savings setting. After this the watch sets itself at 0100 local time. It also has a stop watch, alarm, and timer as well as world time settings. It's a great watch and comes with a plastic watch band which makes the watch good for sports wear and water tight to 50 meters. Who could ask for more? Why spend several hundred dollars when this is yours for under $30.00!! You'll not be disappointed.

Superb "Atomic" sensitivity

ScootyBoot November 1, 2013

I have had this exact same watch for several years, and it just now needed a new battery. While getting that tended to at Walmart, I saw a new one just like my old one, so I ordered one online. (I added some clothing to the order to get free shipping.) So what is so special about this watch? Its radio sensor is extraordinarily sensitive, meaning it NEVER fails to correct its time each night. I don't have to place it in a special location (as I have had to do with other such watches). It stays on my wrist all night, and it always has set itself to the NIST (or whatever national service it listens to), usually at midnight, occasionally at 1am, rarely at 2am. I am sure its success hinges on atmospheric conditions, and where my left wrist is in the wee hours while I sleep. The bottom line is that my first one has been so good that I decided to buy another just like it because it won't be manufactured forever. When my old one fails, I will simply pull the new one out of its box, strap it to my wrist, and go on as if nothing had happened. My new one is currently sitting in its box. I just opened it and verified that it adjusted itself last midnight. There are prettier watches out there, but I dare say there are no better ones!

My store did not have the watch I wanted. The clerk told me to go to the Walmart web page and see if I could find the watch I wanted. I had never considered that as an option. Thanks to her I did as she instructed and the next thing I know the watch is ready for pickup at that same Walmart store. Now, how neat is that. One aside; by making that suggestion she kept me doing business with Walmart because without her suggestion I was headed for the competition looking for the watch. Sorry about calling her a clerk, yes, I know, an associate. I later learned she was in charge of the jewelry counter as I had phoned the store manager to tell him what a great job of saving a sale that lady did. It was a small thing but they all add up to sales.

Fantastic Casio watch but horrible wrist band

Eric December 26, 2024

I'm a huge Casio watch fan. I've collected 12 over the past 40 years and all are still functioning well, albeit one or two are kind of beat up. I decided to add this WaveCeptor to my collection. I've owned a few atomic clocks over the years and always liked the hands off time synchronization, this watch works just as well. If you find it's not synching with WWVB just place it on a windowsill overnight away from any electronics that might interfere with it. Mine always synchs at 12:05am like clockwork (get it? lol). The dial is very easy to read and just like any other Casio it's very intuitive to operate, set alarms, time zones, etc. My only gripe is the wristband, it's very long, stiff and uncomfortable. I'm very familiar with Casio's resin wrist straps over the years but this one is my least favorite, so much so I immediately ordered a silicone band elsewhere. If you want a watch that keeps perfect time this WaveCeptor is the most affordable one out of Casio's lineup. If you want to replace the wrist strap the lug with is 18mm.

For the price, this is an exceptional value and it is mostly living up to my expectations. While the quality of the watch mechanism and ease of operation is excellent, the overall quality of the band and case are less than optimal; however, for the price, it is very good.

Nice watch but it never picked up the signal. Even when placed next to a clock that does pick up the signal.
