Exactly what I expected. Great red color to the canvas and the frames are beautiful with the right amount of shine on the paint. I bought these chairs for awards and I embroidered the backs and they turned out fantastic!
I use the director chairs to facilitate workshops. I do demonstrations in front of the room with students. With the chairs we can sit in comfort and other students can see us easily. Up until now it's been difficult to find a durable, easy-to-assemble, portable chair. This one has it all. [...]
I purchased this chair for use in my makeup artist studio. I am pleased with the quality of this product. It is sturdy and was easy to put together. This chair does not have a footrest that folds up when you fold up the chair (the footrest is screwed into the legs), so it is best used as a permanent fixture, not one that will be used to go from location to location. I have a separate directors chair with a moveable footrest for that purpose, so please keep that in mind when making your purchase.
The first bar height directors chair I purchased had a defaulty footrest. I called the company within a week of delievery, told them the problem within 24hrs they had a new chair sent out to me. That is what I call great customer service. I look foward to recommending this company to my friends/family and maybe purchasing from this company again.
I now have 3 Director chairs for my Music Artistry performances in Seattle, Washington which includes personalized background logo. These 30"" high Director Chairs make the Artist stage presence more comfortable when doing acoustic song-sets, and more importantly appealing for the Artist's. I will continue to order Director Chairs on-going when needed:).... 110% beautiful!!!
As the manager of a rental stage for film and video productions, we provide amenities for our clients, such directors chairs. The price for 30"" and 18"" chairs through Hayneedle seemed like the deal of the century; the specs fit our bill, so I ordered six standard and six tall chairs. Upon delivery of the chairs, I immediately tired to assemble a tall chair. I was a bit baffled by the footrest--it came separately, and it had a large screw and washer on one end and a drilled hole with an independent metal peg for the other end. The high directors chairs I have used in the past had footrests that were attached on one chair leg and swung free onto an affixed peg or ledge on the other leg. This way, the chairs can be quickly picked up, folded, and stored in an instant. After reading the simple directions, I realized the footrest had to be screwed on (no big deal), but I had to lay the chair on the floor and press my weight against it in order to made the hole and pin match up. Once the pin was in flush with the leg, it could not be removed, therefore preventing the chair from being folded. No storage capability. Fortunately, my handy stage manager had some pins with heads on one end. He drilled out the holes to accommodate the pins, then he attached them to the legs with nylon-coated wire to prevent them from getting lost and to easily pull the pins from the legs. Storage and portability is important, so I probably would not have purchased these had I been aware of the foot rest issue. Otherwise, they are attractive, fairly sturdy, and they are comfortable. The 18"" chair are great--they are solid and comfortable, plus the price is right.
This product was totally fine but it wasn't shipped out when the website said it would be so we received this very late. We were supposed to receive this on 3/9 as i received a notice that it was shipped out on the 8th but we did not receive it until 3/12 as it was actually shipped out on the 11th. Not sure what happened with the Hayneedle warehouse or whoever was in charge of shipping these. We needed to get this product in time for an event on the 13th as we were supposed to brand the back of the chair but because we received it so late, we weren't able to brand it. I would order this product again but Iwouldn't trust the shipping on this website.
I have had probably ten of these chairs in my career; I buy them to carry to antique shows so I can sit at customer level when I'm working. THIS one has been changed....I buy them because up until now, they all folded for carrying in the van....this one does not fold, unless you get out the screwdriver and remove a long screw and its washer. Not clear in the description. Heck.
I really wanted to like these chairs. I ordered two of them. The seat bottom doesn't fit - it isn't wide enough to open the chair all the way and makes it impossible to install the foot rest. One of the channels on the side where you slip the seat cover in was way too narrow and almost impossible to use. I guess you get what you pay for - these are cheap and not well made at all. I would NOT recommend them!!
I bought 2 Director's chairs. There are a few problems: One of the chairs was missing the white rubber bottom that is screwed into the base of the chair leg The same chair has another white rubber bottom but it does not stay screwed into the leg as the wood is already stripped. The second chair has a cracked leg (when the rubber bottom was screwed into the leg, it was screwed in too tight causing the wood to crack up the leg; the crack is about 7 inches long and poses a safety hazard for someone sitting in the chair. Ultimately, the quality of the chairs is poor.
