My cat is thrilled that she can now look out the window or watch tv from her own sky box. With it's three shelves it provides a lot of options for her to choose from. Happy girl.
This is the third tree I bought for my cats because they love it so much. They tend to rip (fabric) after a month or two (see images below - old vs. new) but my cats can be crazy sometime. My only compliant is that the price is a bit steep.
This was my 5th one in 4 years. I have 3 cats and they wear out the carpet eventually. They use it better than other cat trees I've tried. All the others were also more expensive. They like scratching the carpet and they love how tall it is. When they wear this one out I'm sure I'll get another one.
When I originally started buying these cat trees, they were a lot more durable. But this last one I've gotten my cats have already tore the carpet all the way up and it has only been a week and a 1 since I've had the tree up. But my cats love a carpet tree versus a sisal tree.
The carpet is pretty thin, so unless your cat is declawed or doesnt scratch, it wont last long.
I have bought this twice. My cat loves it! He really wore down the first one. He climbs and uses it as a scratching post. Wish they would sell the top post replacement, could not find one anywhere. They do sell replacements for the lower posts in store though.
Love the idea of the cat tree and its perfect for not taking up much space but it falls apart easily. I have one med - large sized cat and we've had two in a short time due to it falling apart. Will try another brand of this style next time we replace.
I knew by reading the other reviews what to expect. I also knew by the price, you get what you pay for. I had already seen the item put together at a friends house but her cat had yet to use it. My 10 pound cat uses it and yes the quality isn't great and it is a little unstable but my cat enjoys it, so for the price of it, I don't mind. If you're looking for something to last a long time, spend the extra $ on something else.
I have bought cat trees from Walmart for years. The trees lasted over a year and I was very happy with that length of time considering I had several cats. BUT this last tree was a total disappointment! The cardboard was thinner and the carpet was basically a cloth instead of carpeting…It just took one cat jumping onto the tree and the tree bent in the middle. We tried anchoring it to the wall but within 5 days the “carpet” was pulling away from the tree as well as ripping. The tree was sitting at an angle no matter how much we tried to support it. I returned it to Walmart for a refund. With that money my husband and I bought 2x4’s and a carpet runner. Considering we had anchored the Walmart tree to the wall we figured we could build our own tree and anchor it to the wall. We have 4 shelves and 4 posts and very happy cats. We didn't expect alot buying a 40$ tree but certainly did expect the same quality that we've had for years.
I was initially disappointed in the quality when I took this out of the box. The carpet is horrible and stiff, the perches are very small, the pole at the top is made of plastic and not sturdy. However my cat was in desperate need because her previous tree (after 10 yrs) was so worn the carpet was barely hanging on. I regret not putting this one back in the box and returning it. I've owned it for 2 months now and not a day goes by that it does not fall. The pole is so cheap and weak that as my cat sits on it the weight of her causes the support pole to bend and within minutes it falls. Also the carpet on all sections is already falling off. Such a disappointment. My first one lasted 10 years and was still structurally sound. I seriously should have just had that one reupholstered. Don't waste your money on this.
