Easy to put together with all tools included. This is loads of fun for my kittens and adult cat. They love the mouse and the hidden jingle ball toy is very fun for them.
The jingle balls come out a little too easily for my cat right away he figured out how to take the out and rolled under the couch he loves the scratching post He makes himself tired when he plays with it.
the best scratching post I ever bought
My cat Lily loves it. Started using it right away. I found it reasonably priced too.
Product is well made and my cats love it. They chewed up the string that holds the mouse toy in a couple of minutes and tore the grey cover off the mouse by the next morning. They don't have any problem getting the balls out of the bottom and play with them for awhile then they end up his under the furniture. They use the scratching post a lot. It was a good purchase. I would buy again. Scratching post was the reason I bought it. And it is well made and will help save my furniture. The toys keep them occupied for a while lol
Like the Scratching post. The balls that go into the base are broke. Not totally happy with that. Not worth the hassle of returning over broken plastic. I will make it work.
There's no holes pre-drilled for you to screw in the hanging mouse toy, however, you don't really need holes and you can just screw the screws right in with a little elbow grease or poke your own hole right through it with anything sharp. This is not made of wood; I don't even think it's made of compressed saw dust like some other brand. Feels like this is just thick, strong cardboard that's folded several times to improve durability. The carpeting is thin, but this seems to be very common in other brands so this isn't really a complaint just an observation and it is similarly priced. My kitten so far has showed no interest in using this cat scratcher, but she doesn't really scratch anything else either so perhaps she just hasn't grown into scratching behavior yet. I choose this particular scratcher, due to the "cheese wheel" style base that doubles as a toy. It's a good way to let your cat play with balls, without having to worry about having balls all over your floor for you to trip on. Also, it's a good trick to hide treats inside the holes of the base that your cat has to reach in and paw out in order to eat them. This is called foraging, a natural wild behavior, and it's good for mental stimulation (prevents boredom, encouraged exercise). If she learns to use this scratching post as she gets older, for $30 it'll be a good scratcher toy in one to keep on the 2nd level of the house along with a bigger scratcher/condo on the main floor just to ensure she has enough scratching options to prevent her from clawing the furniture/wood entryways/rugs. Since the base is round, you can't push it tight up against the wall in a corner but it still fits small spaces fairly well.
It's ok. My kitten (4 months old) broke the string of the hanging toy in less than 5 minutes. Not worth $30 to me.
Plastic holding up mouse broke off in the first day, not too worried about that but the material on scratching post already coming apart very easily, my cat isn't that rough
