I like those feeders a lot! The easy scheduling and food measurements help me to keep my cat on her diet . The setup was easy. The ability to change the schedule (or give an extra treat ) while being away from home is priceless!
I have 4 cats and my newest cat isn't a grazer, he loves to eat! While the other 3 cats in my house have microchip feeders my 4th kitty has an automatic feeder. I really like - that you can control how many portions are given in 1 feeding - how often the feedings can be given - easily clean the stainless steel bowl The only thing I don't like about the machine is the noise it makes when the food is dispensed but I eventually got used it. I would buy this smart feeder again if i needed to.
I like this feeder a lot because it is relatively compact, the bowls are easy to swap out and clean, and the alerts from the app are useful (like if the food is running low or if a meal did not get served properly). The only issues i have had have mainly been silicon pieces from the inside breakijg off and coming out. There are some small silicon brush-like little flaps that help push the food around and one or two have come out of all three of my feeders. I superglued them back in (feeder is easy to take apart) and they mostly stayed in. One or two might have broken off again but I havent noticed any issues with food being dispensed. It may be more necessary for kibble that is a different size or shape than what I use, I dont know. These come with a usb cord and power adapter so you can plug it into the wall or power strip, and you can also put in battery backups. I bought rechargeable D batteries for emergencies and keep it plugged in. Overall I like the feeders a lot.
In our household there are full time workers and school kids, so before we got this our cat would go all day without a meal, or with an overfilled bowl of kibble going stale. The feeder is so easy to set up and works a treat, it's great getting the notifications wherever I am that a meal has been fed so I always know she has fresh food! Wouldn't be without it now.
My cat, Marcus, used to eat too much too quickly and throw up. Now with Pixi, we just dispense 7 smalls meals a day and he never gets sick! He loves this feeder and so do I! It works perfectly with his food and dispenses a small amount (we have it set on the smallest setting of 1 portion). It makes it super convenient for me and my husband that work long hours and aren't home for 12 hours a day on days we work. It also dispenses at the same time each day which I think is important for Marcus to be on a consistent schedule (since my husband and I do not have consistent work schedules). It was worth every penny!
We have loved this! Took a minute to figure out the portions but once we did it was a game changer! The only down side is that after 10 months it is not dispensing properly. We're not giving up on the feeder and going to purchase another one with the hopes this was a manufacturing fluke. . . fingers crossed
Overall this feeder is super handy. But the feeder and to app on my phone disconnect from each other everyday! If I don't go unplug and re-plug the feeder and have my phone in hand to reconnect then I dont know what's going on with the feeder. Have had it for several months now and I've given up on the connection but now the feeder isn't dispensing food. So when it works it's great.
I like my automatic feeder, but I wish I had an to option to buy a slow feeder bowl. The reason I use the automatic feeder is because my cats love their food and do not have the self control to be free fed. Once fed now, they eat so quickly and would like to have to option to slow them down a bit so it avoids them scarfing down their meal in less than 60 seconds.
A cute design and holds a good amount of food. However, it does not work with 5gHz WIFI and there is nothing on the packaging to indicate that. Without connection to the internet, you cannot program anything and there is no way to set it up. Entirely unusable without warning. Be aware of your wifi specifications before you buy.
Worked perfect for about two months. Internal mechanism no longer dispenses. Was honestly going to buy two more for gifts, but due to lackluster performance will be moving on from using this brand. Hopefully it will change.
