The 9.25 kit that includes HD tripod and Celestron Plossl eyepieces/filters is a very solid value package. It's my first SCT and I'm quite happy with the optical performance of the scope!

The GOOD: very good optics for visual, great solid yet relatively portable tripod. Self-contained mount with battery and WiFi is really fantastic for portability and ease of setup. GoTo system is a joy to use (when it works... see "the BAD") and makes observations a breeze.

The BAD: WiFi is one of the most frustrating implementations I've ever had to use on ANY electronic device... the app constantly disconnects and the lag is maddening, especially when you try to do fine tune adjustments to your alignments. It's absolutely horrendous and the main reason the scope doesn't get 5 stars. Read other people's experiences - the WiFi implementation is botched. Also, the Vixen style clamp is very frustrating to use - the OTA is bulky and heavy enough to really require a larger clam - Losmandy style would be MUCH better for this mount/OTA combination.

I highly recommend the following: 2" diagonal (just toss that dinky cheap 1.25 that came with the kit - it's junk), micro focuser upgrade (this is a MUST as far as I'm concerned), and StarSense Alignment - makes alignment MUCH easier.
