This used to be an absolute staple product in my skin care. It was the only ointment I could and would use. However, this so-called "new and improved" formula is NOT that at all! It's absolutely horrible. This is the texture and consistency of glue. It doesn't spread, it doesn't absorb, and it irritates my skin. It's gooey, tacky, and not anything I'm willing to put anywhere at all on my body, let alone my skin. It's thick, but not in the good way. I may not like the feel of Vaseline, but I'll use that any day over this! I once recommended this ointment to everyone I knew. Now I will no longer recommend it to anyone at all.
I know you HAVE to have a bunch of overstock of the old formula. Please send it to me. It was literally the only thing that worked for my daughter's skin. This new formula dries her skin and breaks her out so bad. Please go back to the old formula. Literally every platform where reviews are left says this. You all made a mistake. Correct it and keep your reputation as a skin care brand that actually heals.
I loved the original product! I used it every night before bed. I hate the new formula, its sticky, drys my skin out etc. Why fix what wasn't broke? Many people that used this regularly are hunting for a new product! You destroyed a great product, shame on you!
I have used this product for years to help with chafing around my panty line. Loved it! However, the “new & improved” formula is not good at all. Felt very stiff & waxy & felt like I needed to use twice as much to feel the relief. Sad as I REALLY liked this product for years.thinking I may need to switch to Aquaphor. Wish you did not need to feel a need to improve it—you just list a customer.
The recent formula change is incredibly disappointing. My children suffer from severe eczema and, as part of our routine for the past 7 years, we would apply Cerave Healing Ointment in the morning and at night. Like clockwork, I regularly purchase a new jar every month because we go through it so quickly. This time I saw new and improved on the label and saw that the ingredients have changed. I was quite skeptical but decided to proceed and was absolutely horrified that my children complained that their skin felt like it was stinging. They wanted to wash it off. This was the only product they had applied. Moreover, this new formulation is greasier and stickier. Sadly, now I'm searching for a replacement. This was the only product from Cerave's line that was tried and true. Why mess with a great thing? If you have sensitive, eczema prone skin and were once a loyal user of the healing ointment, please look elsewhere. This is no longer the holy grail product it once was for many eczema sufferers.
I used to really love this product. It worked amazing for my eczema and honestly felt better than Vaseline or Aquaphor. I swore this was my holy grail. I would buy a bottle every 2 months because of my severe eczema and relied on it constantly. But with the new formula, I don't feel the same at all. It feels waxy and just not great. I used it right after a shower on clean, slightly damp skin, and immediately noticed the difference with the new bottle I bought. I'm really disappointed in this change. It doesn't seem like what people wanted, and it's honestly causing the opposite reaction of what it's supposed to do. Now I'm going to have to find an alternative, and unfortunately they've lost a loyal customer.
I have used the healing ointment for years and absolutely loved the old formula. I just bought a new tub of the new and improved version and I cannot use it anymore. It is so sticky and doesn't dissolve in the skin as easily as the original. I had to return the tub and will have to find a substitute. I use your facial cleansers and other products, but this one no longer works for me.
So sad. The only thing that worked for my baby with eczema, and now I'm stuck. The new product is not working. Please bring back the old formula or rebrand/retitle it. You have so many people here that would buy it in truckloads.
The new formula is not good. I have been using cerve healing ointment as a chapstick for years, and it was the only thing that didn't give me hives (I have very sensitive skin, and even aquaphor gives me hives) The new formula and thicker and sticker, so it is not nice to put on and sure enough I'm starting to get a sand paper like rash. Most of the people who have used this product use it because they have sensitive skin, and making changes to the formula was not what sensitive skin people need. I'm going to have to try is stock up on the old formula if I can find it, which it seems others are doing as well. 0 out of 5
Used to love this product. I have very sensitive skin and a lot of allergies. This product was then only thing i could use for my lips for a lip balm. Tried the new formula and ended up having an allergic reaction. Really devastating. I think it would have been better if you all kept the old formula and marketed this new formula as a healing BALM. Because the new formula feels so much different , Either way the formula change is awful and really a let down.
