I have been wearing Chacos for years and I love them!🩷 I live in Michigan but I wear these the minute it hits 50°F in the spring and don't put them away until the temp dips below 50°F in the fall. I'm a professional pet groomer and avid outdoorswoman. I wear them for work, hiking, canoeing, camping, amusement parks, etc. I LOVE that they come in wide widths for my Fred Flintstone feet! Please don't ever stop making these sandals! And don't change them either...THEY ARE PERFECT!
I am a father of 4, all under 10 years old. These shoes help me do all of the activities with my kids, wear them hiking, these are the most versatile product i own. I'm thinking about buying a matching pair for my whole family they are so great.
I am about to order my third pair of Chaco Z2's. The toe loop although strange at first, and may have the tendency to tighten for the first while. Stay strong! Eventually the toe loop secures in a single spot and you are able to just slip them on, or step the toe loop down if you want. That little loop is the best part of this whole deal! Provides balance and stops the annoying/dangerous potential of catching the toe edge of your sandals, while jumping around on river rocks, hiking/scrambling, to walking down the side walk. I am going to try the wides this round, because I have felt that heel discomfort before with the regular sizing. The first pair of these I owned died on the walk out from K2 basecamp when I couldn't deal with my full shank boots any longer. The straps broke probably due to extended periods of exposure to water over the 2-3 years previous. I talked to Chaco about restrapping those, they sent me a new pair. That solidified it for me, if a company stands behind its product enough to send me a brand new pair, because I loved the first ones too much they definitely believe in their product. I have now killed my second pair, again, straps. But after many, many river days and international trips they didnt owe me a thing. Which brings me to my one gripe in this Love Letter to you Chaco; Is it just not cost effective to re-strap old pairs? The soles seem to hold up fine. Anyways, I am going to order a third pair after about a decade (maybe less) of solely wearing the Z2's from April to October here in Canada. I love you....I mean them...Chaco. Please dont stop with the foot Love you provide me. Dont ever stop!
Love the Z/2! I've been wearing these since high school, so going on somewhere around 25 years now… the extra toe loop I personally feel gives me a bit more grip and stability when tromping around outdoors, and hence I frequently where these when hiking and even occasionally backpacking. They're super comfortable whether on the trail, in the water, or after a long day in my boots. The black is also classy enough for casual wear! Can't beat ‘em, and I don't intend to ever stop buying them.

My mum asked for my previous pair so I got another one. I like these shoes so far. I bought my first pair in 2023 and now my 2nd in 2026. I like the one with the additional strap for my big toe. I am a larger size women's shoes so it's really hard to find shoes that fit but these have worked out so far.
I like these sandals though I am having a hard time making them tight enough. I have high arches and a pretty narrow foot. They are comfortable enough for wear around town etc.
The previous pair of Chaco Z Cloud sandals that I owned had thicker and softer straps. It appears that the company is trying to shave some cost at the expense of quality. The harder, thinner straps dig into my skin more than the previous model. Alison, I don’t understand why the end of strap goes down to the pavement when you pull the strap through the buckle. I had to have the straps shortened on my previous pair of sandals.

straps to do not stay in place good, causing the toe straps to tighten and cause numbness. They also fit a little awkward. I have requested a resolution from rechaco, but don't have an acceptable option yet. Also, they still smell strongly of chemicals/rubber, even though I have had them out of the box for 3 weeks.
