I rarely wore open-toed shoes growing up (prickly underbrush, cool forests, etc.), but living in a much warmer climate now I had to expand my options. I've known Chacos from plenty of river rats and tree huggers, so figured these were the place to start. Nice wide straps and solid buckle holds the shoe in place very well. Definitely looking forward to trying more varieties now.
These are super comfortable. I never expected to want to wear sandals so much. I have no idea what to do with the end of strap though. It flaps around.
Couldn't be more happy with my new set of Chaco's! Their first outing was 30 miles on the San Juan River in Southeastern Utah. It was the only shoe I took. From days on the raft, to swimming, to hiking jagged cliffs looking for fossils, these shoes did it all! Certainly a five star rating.
These sandals work great for work and for play!!!!
2nd pair of chaco's. The Z clouds are super comfortable. Highly recommend!
The cloud is real, people. I have the Chaco original sandal, and the Z-cloud, and there is a genuine difference in sustained comfort. I love them both, but for long standing, walking, working, moving, you want clouds on your feet.
I used the excuse of needing a new pair of Z/1s to purchase my dog a matching collar. The shoes I am replacing are 1st generation with Vibram soles and thicker straps. While the comfort is nearly the same, I am not expecting these to last 25 years like the old ones did.
tried a new sandal. For my older feet they were nat a good fit. Walking in them several times, the arch never felt correctly placed for my foot. I had never tried adjustable web straps before and they were not a good fit for me either. It's probably just me…
I expected these to be really comfortable given the marketing claim of “cloud” but they're really just an average run of the mill sandal. Not impressed. But not upset enough to return them.
the upper part of the midsole has cracks and other degraded areas after just a month of use, maybe 5 miles of light walking around my neighborhood and 15 miles of hiking
