i was raised o LandOLakes, has been my preferred brand but 2/3 wks ago decided to try this Challenge Butter. its just about the same as Land O Lakes but just a little sweeter. for the little difference in price i think Challenge is my new preferred brand. give it a try, i think youll like it
This is some of the best tasting butter I've ever had. BUT-I knew the first time I tried it, it was going to become one of those that is more expensive than everything else. A few years ago when I first started buying it, it was the most INexpensive butter in the store. Now it is THE most expensive. I really don't understand how this happens but here we are. It really is a delicious butter, but unfortunately I won't be purchasing it on a regular basis unless the price point comes down significantly. It is even more expensive than the very popular LOL brand.
I like the taste of this brand of butter there is no after taste it melts easily and if you need it soften at room temperature it good also but I would recommend to put the butter on dish so it's easier to handle it grates easy also freezes good too
Challenge salted is a fave for baking..rates high with me, the unsalted Challenge is the freshest taste and resembles German company and farms produced butters, amazing cold pats of this butter on hot crusty French bread or baguette is a sublime meal.
Challenge butter does not add “natural flavors” (which could mean a lot of different things, some of which I would not want to eat). Their cows are not treated with rBST. The next thing dairy producers need to add to their labels is if their cows have received any mRNA shots. Thanks!
I felt compelled to write a review for this butter. I'm an older guy, and I'm known for telling people how much better butter tasted when I was young. This butter tastes like that. Wow... it's like taking a step back in time... it's that good. Worth me taking a few minutes to write a glowing review. I'm impressed!!
Ive been hearing alot about French butter being best. I thought this was french butter but the package says Product of Brazil. Other than that I didnt find it had a better taste than Kerry Gold which I normally buy and I didnt like the spreadability of this butter. I wont but it again.
I hoped paying a little more for a better butter would make baking and eating real butter a pleasure. Unfortunately Challenge salted butter was not “buttery”. The cold taste was flat. Melted, there was less butter fat( which did taste good) but there was more milky liquid, which changed the taste.
Had to throw it out. That's 2 lbs that ended up in the trash in less than a month. Both were RANCID...and almost tasted like it had spoiled. I decided to try it one more time thinking it was an isolated incident and ILL NEVER buy this again. About $9 in the trash!
I have been buying challenge butter for years. I have a severe soy allergy. The last two times I have eaten challenge butter, I have had a severe allergic reaction. This is the only food product that was common the two reactions. Somehow, I believe the product is being contaminated with soy.
