Excellent instructions. We have never even attwmpted to put up a garage door but they make it dumb proof.. provided you have common sense. It took us 3 hours going slow and taking breaks to get it done. Now that we know what we are doing we could probably do it on half the time.
It was as easy as it can get. I did the entire install by myself. The app recommwnds 2 people. The app is very clear with the potential dangers involved during the install and operation.
Would recommend to friends and family. only suggeation O have is to have a section of topics to choose from incase you want to go back a couple steps
I am a one of loyal Chamberlain customer. The previous opener had worked 20 years since 2005 until the circuit board out of work. I bought new Chamberlain B4613T, installed easily, online App instruction is easy to follow, LED light is bright, run very quiet, I like the backup battery can keep opener to work when A/C power is outages. I hope this new Chamberlain opener can work ALAP.
The instructions for installing wall remote for my particular opener did not flash like indicated in instructions, rather it was steadily lit. The wall opener did not operate the opener only until the battery was installed at the end. Luckily I could test for power and continuity to wall remote.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] You couldn't ask for better improvements, to a garage door opener. From its smooth and quiet operation, to the ability to control the opener with your phone. I don't know how many times I left home, and wasn't sure that I had closed the garage door. Now all I have to do is check my phone. The camera is a feature you will always find to be useful, and the led lighting is certainly a plus. As far as the installation goes,, the instructions were very easy to follow. I don't think there is anything more that you could add to this opener to make it better.
Excellent tutorial. The only thing that should be explained better is; when wiring the trip sensors to the motor unit. The black/white wires from each sensor should be combined as well as the white wires from each sensor before inserting into their respective slot in the motor unit.
Add paper instructions in box. I understand its old school, but i am inclined to believe that putting grease smudges on phones can be bad, tiny writing on screens is hard for old school people, sun/light glare makes the screen hard to see, back stepping is easier with paper than scrolling and listening for 5 minutes a step adds frustration, working in a shop in 6°f on a garage door opener is harder when fingers and other body parts are freezing while watching the videos. Otherwise, not a bad experience, minus the globs of white grease on multiple spots on the top of the opener wasnt a good start, especially since i found them by touch, not sight.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used Chamberlain garage door openers for years and they have proven to be reliable. This Chamberlain garage door opener is 3/4HP belt driven motor, so can lift heavier garage doors and is very quiet. Door rollers can make more noise than garage door opener. Modern design with led light. Light is reasonably bright but very directional, so a lot of the garage stays in shadow. I prefer when garage door opener has lights on opposite sides to provide better light distribution. Wi-Fi is built into the garage door unit. It connects only to 2.4GHz Wi-Fi. 2.4GHz has better signal strength than 5GHz Wi-Fi, but can cause some connection issues at the beginning if your Wi-Fi router supports both frequencies automatically, you might need to disable 5GHz frequency during initial configuration. Once the garage door opener has connected, this is not an issue. Wall mounted control panel is simpler design, with open/close button and motion detection to switch on led light. Learning button and motion turn off switch are hidden underneath the main button flap. No button to lock door open. Useful to have camera built into the garage door opener. Camera and Garage door opener each have their own IP address. You can view live camera from within MyQ app. It takes 5-10 seconds for live camera view to show in the app. Camera supports two-way audio which can be useful. 1.5 second delay on audio makes it difficult to have conversation. Camera is very useful to monitor what is going in garage and possibly driveway if that is the camera direction you choose. Audio is loud enough to get attention of possible intruder. No obvious way to connect camera to other video monitoring systems using standard ONVIF format, which is a disappointment. Camera can be closed manually if privacy is required. Camera must be opened again manually and manually turn to desired direction. Camera can be rotated 360 degrees, with about 90 degree range of visibility. That is more than enough to see full double car garage door and 6 feet of internal garage walls. No pan or tilt of the camera is available. Have to pay extra monthly or annual payment for 7 day cloud storage or 30 day cloud storage. No local storage is available which is a disappointment. Most cheap IP camera allow local storage.
the app was terrible. I did a couple steps wrong because the images weren't clear. they should have zoomed in and zoomed out images for the steps. would have much preferred paper instructions. the product is good, the installation instructions were terrible.
