My garage door exterior door keypad was extremely old and warn I did my research found this one Works like a charm completely replaced the old one in the same spot lined up perfectly then pushed the program button on the opener and all done
I like the product and it seems to work. I will be able to give more definitive feedback after I have used it for a while with regards to long term reliability.
This is the second opener I have owned. I love this product. It works well and is not too hard to install. I am not tech smart and it did take me a few minutes to program the opener, but more because I have a hard time with any electronics. The product works well and it is very convenient to have entrance to the garage and not have to search for the car garage opener.
Excellent Marta's cover not too thick but feels nice
Replaced a Craftsman opener. This one works great and was easy to install. It is a little difficult to slide the cover to access the keypad. Lubricated the sides. Hope this will become easier with more use.
The unit arrived timely. The instructions to program were difficult and entailed a phone call. The telephone help was fine but required further instruction (received by email) to complete the programming. Installation was easy; just need a Phillips head screwdriver. The cover was hard to open. After we finally opened it we coated the runners with silicone spray and now it slides easily. A better design would have a hinged cover.
Once I got the keypad programmed, it's OK. However, I had to search through reviews and noticed several that indicated the instructions are wrong. My GDO is a Type 4. The instructions indicate that the programming of the keypad should take place prior to hitting the LEARN button on my Overhead Brand GDO. Actually, I needed to hit the LEARN button first, then begin the programming process.
Firstly - it does open the door. The cover is ridiculously difficult to lift up and since you cannot access the top screw to anchor the opener to the wall it could easily fall off when trying to slide it open. I had to attach a bumper so it wouldnt close all the way to avoid this issue. The original had a top keyhole opening for the screw and a flip open ( not slide up) cover which made it a far superior item. I would give it a 1star except for the fact it does open the door...so far anyway.
I have not installed this item yet. I have been in contact with the seller of this product. What is displayed in the picture is not what I received. I received a completely different opener with no notice of why. Very disappointed that what is pictured is not what you receive. Dishonest for sure.
Not sure if we got a returned product but the package was open. Ended up not needing this as we were able to get the Genie one to work using a new pin(previous pin worn out the %235 key on the keypad due to age).
