Chamberlain Garage Door Opener, 0.5 HP with Smartphone Control Bluetooth Technology

Was looking for the belt drive version, but all they had was chain, which was fine since i really wanted the wifi feature. Replaced a 20+year unit and oh man, what a difference, this thing is whisper quiet, app works flawless, and i love the DC battery back up motor with soft start and soft closing, very nice unit, very happy with it.

A very helpful virtual installation guide made things a bit easy. There as some missing steps . but minor. I am overall satisfied with the purchase and install.

Make writing on your booklet included larger print. Make it more visible for people to understand that yiu have to have WiFi added before any installation is complete. I missed this and was trying everything to get setup done.

The "Bilt" app for Chamberlain C2212 T does not match the 'online' manual when installing the header bracket. "Bilt" says use horizontal.holes, "manual" says vertical holes (confirmed by Cust Srvc.

After way too much studying if the different brands and models, I chose the Chamberlain C2405 and decided to install myself. If you're handy, you can do it but if you're not, pay someone $150-200 to do it. I sweated my butt off doing this in the summer. All in all, I am pleased so far and look forward to many years of use.

DC motor makes for a very quiet opener. Has a soft stop for opening and closing even though it's not listed as such. Great price for a unit with battery backup. Not a fan of the proprietary Security+ 2.0 remote and switch however. Doesn't integrate well with existing Smart home controllers. Didn't use WiFi capability. Chamberlain is also opaque about how their app pairs with the opener (just says install app and follow instructions), so no clear how to prevent a malicious user from pairing it to their own phone. Don't need another app and other net connected device to be hacked.

The install was good trying to rotate.Images was a little challenging but overall it worked

To many instructions for the door,dont need info on how to drill holes, or how to wire and plug in.

I just purchase this Bluetooth garage door opener in May 2024 as an upgrade to my home and opportunity to upgrade the convenience in my life. But Just As the summer ends and I was excited about using the garage more the sensors have failed. They keep saying they are not aligned after I open the door so I have to get out of my car to force close the door from the wall controllers. This is very frustrating. Good news is the customer service lady I spoke with today was very pleasant, seemed knowledgeable and took care of my concern by sending me new sensors. I really pray that this works because I only upgraded the system for a better life. Not one with more worry or inconvenience
