Chamberlain MYQ-G0201 MyQ-Garage Controls Your Garage Door Opener with Your Smartphone

I love this device! It easily converted my old garage door circa 2000 to a smart garage opener. My kids love it because whenever they forget their keys, they just open the app and tap the icon for the garage to open. I placed the MyQ on our single door garage door and it was easier than I expected that my 12 year old daughter installed both the sensor and the Wi-Fi hub by herself. I have a LiftMaster garage door installed in 2000 and it was on the list of compatible brands. Note you'll need to figure out the button color of your garage opener as well. Installation was a breeze then there's downloading the app & registering the device...that seemed to take as long but worth the wait. After downloading the app for the iPhone & registration, I made sure it runs from our home Wi-Fi and synced it with the garage door. Its important to follow the instructions. We tested it a couple of times both within Wi-Fi range and using Data and it worked! My kids now have the app on their phones and they're able to get inside the house through the garage because they sometimes forget their keys. The app will also tell you how long the garage door stayed open or closed.

This item is awesome. I have been so forgetful about if I left my garage up when I have left my subdivision and this item has me in aww. I almost purchased a security systems garage contraption just to aid me with ensuring my garage is closed when I leave..or when I am half way to my destination. The set up of this device is simple. I thought I would have to acquire some assistance with setting up, but this was too easy. The connection to my home wi-fi was simple to configure. I installed this as well as a camera in my garage, and I am quit content. I would truly recommend this item to anyone that is a little absent minded like myself.

I had replace my Garage Door motor/opener and went with a Chamberlain. I added this device for ease of opening/closing my garage door due to not wanting to leave my openers in the car (thefts, etc). The install was quick and easy. Very little needed (2 screws, download app, unplug and plug in). From the time of opening the box, reading the manual, getting the app on my phone + account creation and the physical install was around 30mins. Now I can pre-open my door before heading out and open it as a street away (not as the driver). I can also check the app to see that it's closed and when it was last closed or open.

I was a little worried about this. I'm not the best with electonics.. That being said, I was able to install AND use the Chamberlain MyQ. I always read reviews. You never know what little gem you may find. True to form, I found one that suggested installing the base as close to your WiFi source as possible for a stronger connection. Being a mother of five young adults, and leaving for work before they do, the MyQ allows me to make sure we all remembered to close the garage door. AND it lets me do it from anywhere. My favorite part of the MyQ is that it also OPENS the garage door.. for those days one of my absent minded young adults forgot their house key. Which has already happened. Instead of leaving work to let them in or them trying to climb the house to find an unlocked window, they simply texted and I opened it. Talk about easy!

We really liked this product. I am always left wondering if I closed the garage door or not. I wind up 90% of the time turning around and double checking. I also like this because I can allow people into my house if a circumstance arises to where I'm not there but need to allow someone to enter my home. I does work well so far but set it wasn't the easiest for us but this could be due to our WiFi connection at the house. The box contains a sensor (which attaches to the actual garage door), the WiFi hub (which needs to mounted near your garage door opener the big part that's usually in the ceiling of garage), and the WiFi hub power cord. We did end needing to get a plug in extender to allow for another plug in for the WiFi hub. Overall this part of the installation process was rather smooth and easy. Once you do this you download the app. This is where we had promblem. You have to connect the WiFi hub to the WiFi before using the app. Which is where I was confused. But if you follow the steps and the links it isn't really that hard but just frustrating when I couldn't figure it out at first. But again it was more than likely due to our WiFi connection at the house not the device. But once you add the place to program it you enter your garage door opener brand the color of the light which was on the back of our device again ours was located on the ceiling in the middle of the garage. It took one try for it to be programmed. And it did a test open and close. When it closes it makes an annoying beeping noise which I am sure is a precaution to let anyone know it is about to close since you may not be standing right there when closing it. I did disconnect my phone from WiFi and try to open and close it and it worked perfectly. Over all I think I will be using this a lot even if it's just checking to make sure the door is actually closed...lol!!! But it's absolutely worth the peace of mind it will bring me at least for us it will!! I hope this review helps.

Install and network set up very easy, works reliably, gives peace of mind. Chamberlain's own app works much better with this device than any of the third party home automation apps I have tried. Device has proved useful many times since I installed it, highly recommended.

Installed this last night. Insulation was quick and easy. Followed the instructions and setup was done in 20 minutes. My only complaint is that my exciting remotes will not work with the garage door opener now. I tried again tonight and without luck. So I downloaded the myQ app on my wife and daughters phones and set their phone up for the MyQ garage opener. And we all have the opener in our phones. I love the way it tells me that the garage door is up. I worry a lot about if I left the garage door open or not when I have left the house. This will let me know if the garage door is open or closed. It will even let you know what time it was opened or closed. I like this feature because I now can tell if my daughter or wife are home. Or lord forbid someone that isn't saposed to be opening my door. All and all a great add on to your garage door.

I just installed it and am using it with a Samsung-SGH-i437. It took me about 25 mins total. It works perfectly. Recently, my neighbor contacted me to let me know that my garage was open - and had been all night! This was very disconcerting, as I rarely leave my garage open and NEVER overnight. My hope is that this device will prevent that from ever happening again.

Easy installation in garage, easy application to use must have wifi to use. one, took a few attempts to connect with the wireless in the home but easy use after setup portion. Equipment not bulky so anyone can install.

This garage door opener can be difficult to program if one is not computer literate. Once that process has been mastered; this machine is a very handy tool to have. First, this opener monitors, opens and closes your garage door from anywhere you are with your smart phone. It allows you to receive alerts to let you know when your garage door is open and closed. I worried once this opener was programmed, if my old remote for my garage door would work as well. I found out the first part of this opener is a sensor that determines if your garage door is open or closed monitored and operated by sensor that was installed and your smart phone. The second module to this opener is part operated by Wi-Fi that you must program just like you performed on the old garage door remote and sync it to your home. This garage opener is wonderful for that individual that has to leave or return home in darkness, it serves as a great safety device for getting in and out of your garage.
