I have four smart garage door openers that I can control with my phone app, and the fifth is an older Guardian opener from 2013. I anticipated needing to buy a new smart opener, but I was delighted to discover a compatible controller to upgrade my old one. The addition of the camera was a welcome bonus. Furthermore, they provided some very helpful technical advice. I am extremely pleased with how well this product works.
I been wanting a way to remotely control my garage without having to buy a new opener. I saw an ad for myQ and with their help on the website, found I could use their device. With the instructions and app, it was very easy to install! I'm very happy with how it works. I highly recommend! Just make sure you have a compatible garage door opener on which the website will guide you.
In August, 2024, I turned in my leased Tesla Model S at the end of the lease term and replaced it with a purchased Tesla Model Y. My Model S had the hardware/software capability to communicate directly with my garage door openers without the need for additional hardware. Tesla no longer includes this hardware for its Model 3 and Y variants as standard. They will sell and install this hardware after the car is purchase for an additional fee. But there is a better way and that's where MYQ by Chamberlain comes in. I have found that I much prefer Chamberlain's offering for a few reasons: 1. It integrates seamlessly with Tesla's user interface. 2. It allows me to set the distance that it automatically opens/closes the garage door(s). 3. It allows me to control which door opens for different cars. I have two Teslas and 3 garage doors. 4. It allows me to remotely open/close the garage doors from my phone from anywhere in the world. 5. The cost for the hardware was free at the time using a promotion offered through Tesla 6. The annual subscription fee is very reasonable. 7. IT JUST WORKS GREAT!!!
It east to install and set up connects good with door LiftMaster professional. Plug into a/c ceiling outlet. Download the app features if you not near and to operate your door. It all pro rating for a okay price.
The unit worked perfectly as i knew it would, easy to install .
Great Product. I would recommend it to anyone who needs to control their garage away from home.
Works great once you have it installed. Took a while to pair the unit with the garage opener. In the instructions they ask you to match the color of pairing button on the Garage opener to the one in the app in order to pair the two units. This did not work for me. I had to go thru multiple different colors before finding one that could pair. Unit should have a built in scan of frequencies to pair instead. Once working it is very good.
Easy to instal and connect to an older (aka non-wifi) garage door. Only reason for the 4 and 5 star is that it takes too long (my opinion) to close. I understand it is for safety reasons, but if I'm remote I'd like to close it quicker. (the hub flashes a light and beeps for about 15-20? seconds to notify anyone around, kids, etc. that the door is going to close. I get it but I think it is too long).
Poor integration between hub and chamberlain MyQ garage door openers. Chamberlain manufactures all the components for My-Q and should be able to detect its own componments without having to go through a climb on the ladder set the opener into learn mode nonsense. When you install the hub and plug it in have it search the connected networks for known chasmberlain products and prompt the user to connect to those products. Dont make the purchaser climb up a ladder and put his brand new Chamberlain garage door openers back into learn mode to connect. Also why does this product not replace the existing wired multi function garage door controls. Would have been nice to connect my existing Chamberlain sensors directly to the back of this hub and be done with it.
Lags more than it works! Doesn't load properly!!!!
