Additional Sensor

JKC1 January 28, 2020

I received the MyQ garage door wifi enabled garage door opener as a Christmas present. However I needed an additional sensor to be able to use it with both garage doors. The system was easy to install and is working perfectly. My only complaint is that the cost of the sensor was almost as much as the complete system.

Open and close your garage doors with a phone app!

Robert April 8, 2020

I bought the MyQ Smart Garage Hub that came with one door sensor. The Hub works with most garage door openers made after 1993. Since I have two doors I needed another sensor. Setup of the Hub and first sensor was easy. The second sensor was fairly easy It did take two attempts to connect and it works great! I have been very pleased with the MyQ Hub so far. The only issue I have had is with the Garage door opener sensors that detect movement when the door closes. If they are not lined up properly the MyQ will not close the door. This however was an easy fix as they often get bumped out of alignment.

Can’t live without the MyQ garage door opener

Larah September 16, 2019

This worked great with the myQ for my 2nd garage door. I had a little trouble setting it up but the CS rep was amazing. Now I cannot imagine not having these. Worth it for the piece of mind being able to check the app to see if I remembered to close the garage doors.

I bought a myq garage door system and the sensor for the door was bad. They sent me a new one no questions asked. Great company with superb customer service!!!!

Easy set up of 2nd sensor.

KarlB December 4, 2019

I set up one sensor about four months ago so adding a second sensor was very easy. Also, since i replaced all the LEDs in my garage with incandescent bulbs i have had no interference problems.

Solved my problem

Alan In KC March 17, 2022

Changed router. New one didn't have enough ports for original gateway. Easier to add a door sensor. Easy set up for second door after initial hub set up.

Needs permanent mounting option

Mgburgh November 30, 2019

Simple to pair and easy to install in about 2 minutes. Would have preferred a more permanent mounting solution with screws as an alternative to the peel and stick velcro. Have thoughts of it falling off door in extreme heat or cold which would become annoyingly problematic with the door status.

Not very useful for the work involved

John in TX February 6, 2020

3* not 1* because this all started with my mistake, 3* not 5 * because of how hard it is to correct your error. If you make a mistake and connect a sensor to the wrong motor (opener mechanism) in order to correct it you must clear and reprogram EVERYTHING not only from all myQ devices, but also from your cars' HomeLink systems, each remote control that came with your openers AND wireless keypads. Redoing all that (two remotes per opener times three, three wireless keypads and two HomeLink cars in two different homes) would take many hours of reprogramming. When I looked at how little usefulness I saw in the myQ system (how often would I want to operate my opener remotely), the choice was clear. It all went in the trash.

Sensor is inconsistent.

Frank A February 25, 2022

My first sensor worked, but failed after 5 years. This new one gives inconsistent readings of open/close.
