[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Works great and is so easy to move around my yard. I am not mechaniallty inclined, but I was able to assemble it all by myself. It starts up right away and the collection bag keeps everything nice and tidy.
Affordable unit for a home owner. Easy to use and handles everything I put it, Fairly quiet when using, easy to move around, very sturdy and doesn't take up a huge amount of room in shed. Been wanting one for a long time and I am glad I bought this one.
I'm seriously impressed with how much this is capable of chipping. Obviously it works best with long straight pieces but keeping that in mind while trimming is a great way to increase your overall efficiency and job success. The top feed is best for leaves and twigs. I fed some 1” sticks in the top and it got tangled up and stalled the engine. I was able to clear the jam with a pruner through the access cover and get back to work fairly quickly. The catch bag is handy for catching the discharge but I would prefer a chute to load a wheelbarrow. We used the bag to chip fruit tree pruning for our smoker.
Don't tighten the bolts too tight or you will be learning the skill of bolt shaft removal. Believe the instructions as to how to use the feeders. In spite of these fiascoes, the machine works great.
Simple to put together. Heavy little beast and easily handled everything I put in it. Great way to keep the yard and tree debris in check. Makes a pretty nice mulch too.
Easy assembly, easy start, easy use. Terrifyingly efficient. Will handle anything dry. Green items tend to slide through. Avoid vines. Forked items commonly need to be broken down. We have very hard wood here in the desert and I do not wish to try 3" items. Anything that size can go to the fireplace. I check nuts & bolts for security, run it on level ground and have no trouble with things coming loose. Eye & Ear protection is a must. My only wish for improvement would be a muffler option.
AMAZING UNIT! It was put together pretty easily (I'll give the instructions a 4.5); and it started right up (just like my two - 2000W Inverter Generators)! I used it for many hours the first day, and several hours the next...I was impressed that I only had to refill the tank a couple times. For my need, the bag wasn't necessary, but kept it with me anyways. The 2nd day, however, I did have to bring a wrench to remove the 3in shoot a few times. The 3in =/> branches can't have any "bends" in them, or they will get stuck...3in is 3in. Next time out, for my need, I may try removing the exhaust shoot diverter, as the debris was creating a hole in the ground. Otherwise, this machine "Rocks", and I highly recommend it to everyone!
Nice little machine. Only negative that I found , was that you have to hold onto the top of the shredder hopper, when pulling the starter rope, in order to keep from pulling the machine over. I also think that the rubber cover on the chipper feed-shoot is a bit too stout. You have to force the branches through it, all the way to the ends. Otherwise, seems to be a pretty good little machine !
We are first time users and it works good. We were thinking it would make it into smaller pieces when you use the shredder top part. Leaves tend to plug it up.
I did not like it, the way it jerks the branches out of your hand and then the branches get stuck halfway into the chipper thing and then it was spitting chunks of the branches out the top past the rubber phalange things. do not like it and I felt very unsafe trying to use it.
