I am 69 years of age and have owned a lot of grills both charcoal and gas. In 2009 I purchased a CharGriller charcoal grill. I was impressed with the quality of the grill. I grill a lot even in the winter months. So I have two grills, charcoal and gas. I have purchased 3 gas grills since I purchased my CharGriller charcoal grill in 2009 the CharGriller is still in great condition. So when I learned that ChatGriller was manufacturing gas grills I decided to try one. I ordered my CharGriller on line. I assembled it upon receipt and was impressed with the quality from the start. Took about 90 minutes to assemble by myself. Sold sturdy grill with no wobble. I fired it up (love the electric ignition), broke it in (followed directions) and cooked steaks for dinner. Cast iron cooking grates, stainless steel burners, inexpensive heat plates (which will be replacement items). Even cooking grill which I expect will last a long time with proper maintenance. Highly recommend
This is the second Char-Griller I have owned and for the price there is no better grill. I put it together myself which took 3 hours but I know it was done right. Great heat, non stick grates, and good heat control. My only complaint is not about the grill but the cover. The custom cover from Char-Griller is a mess, cheap contruction, horrible fit. You have no choice since the stacks on this bbq only allow for that particular cover.
I bought my first one of these grills back in 2008. I love the solid construction, the porcelain coated cast iron cooking grates and many other features. We used it almost weekly over the years. The only thing I ever had to replace were heat plates that go over the burner to catch the grease and generate smoke. After 9 years, it was time to replace it and I was totally jazzed to find that these are still available so I immediately bought another one. To my amazement, the price was basically the same as when I bought the first one. This is be best value in a grill I have ever had.
My husband actually put it together by himself and said it was easier than he thought (I was impressed!) My son, the outdoor chef, was the first to grill on it and started with burgers, and then decided to throw on steaks, chicken, hot dogs, brats and put the mushroom & onions on the side! We had quite the family picnic and everyone commented how well the food was grilled: plus; pretty much everything got done so everyone could sit down and eat! Of note, when grilling, the length of this grill is a little shorter, but it is a lot deeper and seems to hold more. The side burner is very convenient to use! Really can't say enough about how good this grill is compared our 2-burner grill.
This is a very nice grill. I have used it almost every day since new. The only complaints I would have is the assembly instructions and the cheap plastic wheels. I haven't had any problems with the wheels it is just the appearance and the feeling that you know they are not going to last long. The grill seems very well built on the top side. I really like to cooking grates.
Low end griller but if you take care of it, you can get five years out of it. I am replacing one I had for 5 1/2 yrs. The bottom rusted out but they would not replace it since I waited beyond the 5 yr warranty to claim the failure. They won't allow any mods to honor a claim. I had laid a piece of sheet metal in the bottom to lengthen its lifespan and was told that would disqualify my claim (if I had not waited past the 5 yr window). So keep that in mind. Don't drill any new holes in the structure if you want to stay open to a warranty claim down the road. Make sure you season the grill prior to using it and keep it sprayed down w/ vegetable oil spray. Also, keep it covered to protect it from the elements , when not using it. I suggest using Grill Grates. It will allow better grilling of meat and lengthen lifespan of OEM grates. I recommend adding aftermarket SS flame guards under the OEM version. Otherwise, the originals will decay w/in a year.
This is the 2nd time I have bought this exact same grill. It heats up extremely quickly. It holds its heat and cooks evenly. I definitely recommend it.
Have assembled many grills before and this one certainly had more parts not already assembled out of the box. Based on the little extra time and the great rollback price this is an adequate grill. Their design has ignitors on all burners which resolves a design issue with the Kenmore that this grill replaced.
My husband put this grill together in a couple of hours with no problems. I only helped minimally holding parts that needed four hands to put together, but overall he said it was very easy. We love the way it heats up quickly to sear the meat and give you the char-like flavor using the high heat setting. Something our old grill was not capable of doing very well. Of course marinade and seasonings also play an important factor to obtain good flavor, but it helps to have a grill that heats up hot quickly so you can achieve that char flavor. Chicken breasts we grilled were amazing. After researching for several weeks and comparing other grills, I decided to try this one and very glad I had help making my choice after reading the reviews and comparing it to other grills. Yes, the wheels are not very expensive but agree those can be replaced with lawn mower wheels so that the grill can be moved around easier with feeling like the wheels will fall apart. This is the best grill I have ever had and so happy I found it and hope it lasts a long time, but for the price, you can't beat it.
everything on this unit is very good EXCEPT the wheel and axle assembly, very cheeply designed, unit cooks very good, built heavy duty excellent design. only had grill a short time, but is best grill i have evey had i cook on grill every day, sometime twice a day so longivity is necessary for me
