Chicken wings, slow cooked on a WoodWind 24 at high smoke using the Charcoal Hickory blend.....delicious. The Charwood Hickory added an incredible smoke flavor to the wings. It's by far my favorite pellet for getting a really good smoke flavor with poultry. After the test-taste (that'd right. What flavors do I have before adding a sauce/glaze?), went to a Chesapeake /Old Bay sauce instead of a hot sauce, to help keep the flavor.
From vegetables, to steaks, to brisket. This was a favorite of everyone's. Some even thought I spent hours tending a grill to get the results and taste these bad boys gave. “Hard to believe that came off a pellet grill!”-were the responses. Definitely my favorite. Can't wait to do wings or a pork butt with the cherry chars!
This smoker is bye far the Best smoker I've ever had, easy to assemble, easy to use, I would recommend this smoker to any one looking for a great smoker. The Ribs I made turned out to be by far the best Rib I have ever had. I'm looking forward to do Prim rib, turkey, Chickenm and brisket.
Camp Chef Charwood Cherry pellets are a unique blend between the wood and charcoal, there is a distinct charcoal taste along with the cherry. A good alternative to just the regular wood pellets. We started with the "other" brand but have found Camp Chef pellets to be of a good quality and value.
Great my friend has really enjoyed BBQ ing again Great Prepared Foods
Great choice in flavor. Can't wait to try many others!
What I love about the competition blend is that it works with everything. I use it with confidence on chicken, pork, venison, elk, salmon, and beef.
You have to add this to your pantry! My favorite is to add some cherry pellets to it, but also great as is. I get similar burn performance as other Camp Chef pellets and love the variety this one provides.
I have been using the Competition Blend pellets since I got the grill, about 6 months. Really like them they seem to work with almost everything. Wasn't sure about what kind of pellets to chose, so I went with what looked like an all-around thing.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using Camp Chef brand pellets, almost exclusively, for 4 years. They are always fresh, dry, and produce excellent smoke. If you want the best result, use the best pellets.
