[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Chef's Choice Gooseneck Kettle looks so nice in my kitchen. The matte black color looks beautiful and modern on my countertop. It is durable and made of stainless steel. The kettle came with a short instruction, which contains useful information about beverages and preferred temperature range for them. The kettle is very easy to use. I am impressed with the fast boiling feature, it boils water just in few minutes. I would definitely recommend this product for others.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Anyone who has ever visited my homeland of England will know us Brits. are very particular about our tea and we like it hot not cold with lumps of ice floating around in it. Love this gooseneck electric kettle which allows the user to pour at a 90% angle having greater control of the direction of the water avoiding scalds and burns. The LED thermometer display is good and bright which can be easily read even without the reading glasses on. No problem setting the temperature to the correct level for coffee which tastes so much better when the water is at the correct temperature. Overall enjoying the use of my new kettle.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We love the Chef's Choice Electric Kettle. We use one every single day to make coffee and get hot water quickly to warm up baby bottles. This one is the perfect size as it takes up very little space on the counter but holds plenty of water. It heated up room temp water to over 200 degrees in just a few short minutes and was able to hold the temp. I like the digital display that was super simple. I didn't even read the instructions but was able to operate it. The only thing it didnt have was a timer to program when to heat the water up so it would be warm in the morning when we wanted it. I am also a little concerned how to clean the narrow gooseneck on the pitcher but we will cross that bridge when we come to it. Overall, I give it 2 thumbs up!

The good: - It's cheap - You're able to control temperature down to the degree. You want 199 degrees exactly? You got it! - Easy to manage the quality of the pour - Hold function keeps the temperature held close enough to the desired temp (it will let it fall 5 degrees lower than your set temp, and then heat it up and overshoot by a bit) - No plasticky smells like some cheap units The not so good: - It's slow to heat up - The flow from the spout breaks up quickly - Only uses Fahrenheit You get something that will do a good job with coffee pourovers (my use case) for a good price. Know what the limits are of this, and you'll have a good time with it.

Title: I Guess I Will Keep It, but the Controls Are Needlessly Confusing I purchased the Chef'sChoice Electric Gooseneck Pour Over Kettle specifically because I was looking for an electric kettle with temperature control for higher-end Chinese teas. It came recommended as one of the possible options, and visually I do like it. The design is attractive, compact, and clean. I also appreciate that it does not have painted exterior surfaces, which was one of the reasons I was drawn to it. That said, I had serious doubts about whether I should keep it. The main problem is the control system. It is cryptic, counterintuitive, and not especially pleasant to use. For example, if you press the heat/start function first, the temperature setting cannot be adjusted while it is heating. You have to turn it off, choose the desired temperature, and then start heating again. Once the water reaches the selected temperature, the kettle beeps and turns itself off, but it does not clearly display the current water temperature afterward. For a kettle designed around temperature precision, this is a real weakness. There is a hold function, but I am still getting used to it, and the overall logic of the controls feels unnecessarily complicated. A temperature-control kettle should make it easy to see the current temperature and maintain it without extra effort. The narrow gooseneck spout is useful for small Chinese teapots, gaiwan-style brewing, or more precise pouring. However, if you brew larger amounts of tea in a Western-style teapot for three or four people, this kettle becomes less practical. The pour is slow, and filling a larger teapot takes longer than it should. Overall, I will probably keep it because I have gotten somewhat used to it, and it is compact and aesthetically pleasing. But it is definitely not one of my favorite kettles. I have another larger temperature-control kettle that is much more intuitive: it works well for both small and large teapots, and it clearly displays the current water temperature. For this Chef'sChoice model, I would give it somewhere between 2 and 3 stars. The design is nice, but the user interface has too much unnecessary nonsense for a kettle that should be simple and precise.

I have owned several kettles over the past 3 decades. If my husband hadn't broken down the box and put it out for recycling I would return it. Here's what I found to be problematic: It is very loud It is heavier than most The lid is difficult to remove The neck is a bit narrower than most goosenecks The marker for “fill to here” is very difficult to see BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY when the kettle is filled even close to the fill line the kettle boils over from the 3 holes in the lid and can splash out and burn the user and leaves a puddle of water on the heating base.
