Chef'sChoice KrumKake Express Model 839, 6" Cone, in Black (8390000)

This is a great replacement t of the original iron used on a coiled burner stove. However, after I pour in the batter, I used a folded up towel to press down on the cover. If I do not do this, the krumkaka is too thick. (I have been making krumkaka for 50 years, so I know they should be thin and crispy).

The seller is very responsive and has excellent customer service. We had a minor mixup in the shipping and they were very accommodating. i highly recommend Zerrita.

Just finished making a batch of Krumkake using their Norwegian recipe. Everything went according to plans in booklet.

Works incredibly well, just be sure to find a good recipe.

I didn't leave the first ones in long enough to brown. Once I figured that out they turned out great.

This iron was perfect for making krumkake. The iron is simple to use and the ready light helps make them just right.

Heating surface was hotter on side resulting in krumkake being brown on one side. Acceptable but not ideal.

I bought this a month or so ago based on online reviews. While the unit does work, and I did follow the directions, a heat level 6 (highest level) took 4 minutes to get just a light brown. It doesn't seem like it gets hot enough. Also, there was a scratch on the top that got me thinking it might have had a defect and been refurbished. At 4 mins for 1 cookie, not likely to use it very often.

The surface of this krumkake baker didn't heat evenly. One side was very dark before the other side had finished baking. The krumkake turned out thicker than I expected, more like a waffle cone for ice cream than a delicate cookie.

The first time we plugged it in, it blew a circuit in the house and fried the machine. It won't turn on, a complete waste of money. Returning.
