When these bunk beds arrived in three separate boxes i was slightly overwhelmed. I assumed my husband may have a tough time putting then together. But I was pleasantly surprised that he had them up in no time and they look absolutely beautiful. The color is "husk white" not a bright white but they match my daughters white dresser well and i don't notice the color difference at all. You really can't beat the value either. I mean a set of Wooden bunk beds for under $200? It's a wonderful value. I searched many yard sale sites and second hand sites for a set of bunk beds and couldn't find anything even close to the $200 price point. Because the price was so great i was even able to purchase new bedding! These beds are sturdy, easy to assemble, beautiful and an almost unbeatable value. We couldn't be happier.
I purchased the Elise Bunk Bed- Honey Pine color. Wanted mahogony but was out-of-stock. Much to my surprise, the honey pine color was deeper and richer than the pictures. I am very happy with the color. The upper bunk has a lot of slats to support the mattress which makes the bed very sturdy. I also like the ladder being part of the bed- does not stick out from the bed at an angle. The ladder can be at the head or foot of the bed. I prefer the ladder at the foot of the bed as I think it is safer and easier to use here. The only problem I have with this bed is the ladder steps- the two middle steps are vertical (with wooden pegs and screws holding it in.) So there is only a small area, about 2 inches, to balance on. These 2 steps on the ladder, should be turned horizontally which would give a 3 inch step. I will be turning these two steps to provide a larger stepping area. The weight limit for the upper bunk is over 200 pounds! Which was one of the reasons why I chose this bed. My boys are young, but when they get older, I will still have the option of keeping the bunks (or can change it to two twins). This was the only bunk that I found in this price range that had a high weight limit. I am very satisfied with the bed- the way it looks, the sturdiness, and the price was great!
We have had one of these beds for two and a half years. We loved it so much we had to get another for our girls room. They are thick and sturdy and the finish is rich. We have had one of our sons make bite marks up on the top bunk, but you don't even notice! Other than forced wear and tear, it doesnt get scratched or marked easily and is still in like new condition! Best beds for the price and for little kids. Our oldest is seven.
I absolutely love these beds. They are perfect for my girls. I've seen a lot of negative reviews about the beds, but they are perfect for a person that isn't picky. I didn't care which side the ladder was on, or about the color. These beds are very sturdy and roomy. There is plenty of room for my girls to sit on the bottom bunk. And they are very easy to put together. If you just need something right away and inexpensive like I did, then you should definitely check out these beds.
I bought these beds over a year ago and I love them. The top bunk is great. It keeps my son where he needs to be. The top bunk it not too high. On the other hand I would like for the two beds to have a little bit more clearance between them. It is tricky to put my younger son to bed cause I can't sit up on his bed. ( I am only 5'2") For use in a kids room it is a great set. Not recommended for anyone older then about 3rd grade on the bottom.
The only thing we didn't just absolutely love about the bunk beds was the ladder. We wished all the steps were wide. The bottom rung is only about an inch and a half wide.
I bought this 9/2015 & it is still in good condition. I like the color of it & the style of it as well. My one complaint is even though it was put together properly and very thoroughly, the bed still tends to "shake/wobble" more than I'd like. My children are 7 & 4; definitely not big/heavy enough to make the top bunk move as much as it does.
The space between the bottom bunk and the top bunk is way too small. My 3-year-old is tiny and she can barely sit up straight on the bottom bunk. I ended up boxing it up and taking it back. Really paying attention to the height dimensions this time! The good thing is Walmart's return policy. I had no problem returning it.
I can't speak to the durability of these bunk beds since they came damaged right out of the box. Several pieces were cracked and split right in half. I might have exchanged it for another set if it wasn't for the pretty awful orange color. Believe the reviews when they say these are more orange than "honey pine" colored!
Bought this bed a year and a half ago. Has done ok, but just gotten broken last night by my kids plopping down too hard on it. Obviously, they should have been gentler, but children rarely are! It is not very strong, in my opinion. Even brand new it shook when my child climbed up to the top bunk. Now we have a broken bed, and manufactor's info is non-existant in the paper work that was with the bed. Waste of money.
