1st I have to say I enjoy the time I use my TORQ22D! I have 4 cars and a Sequoia in my fleet. It has exceeded expectations. That said I'm one of the guys that is getting long of tooth. Don't tell me I am bald! There is always a choice. I choose to shave my head 2X/day rather than... go horse shoe or horse shoe pony tail... Choose your poison. Another concession to age... It is getting harder for me to work on the lower 1/3 of the vehicles. My thought was it would be handy to have a smaller lighter polisher. Something you could use with 1 hand as needed. I looked at several smaller machines. I noticed...at least at the time I was buying... TorQ had the most power. IMO it was a significant difference. If you are going light weight you still need power for the tough jobs or why bother. The TORQX also had a better selection of power settings. The ergonomics seemed as well thought out as the TorQ22D. I decided to purchase the TORQX. It too has exceeded expectations. I've used it to polish the lower 1/3rd of my 1998 SL500. The TORQX is easy to manipulate with one hand. Regardless of the light weight... The TORQX got the job done right, delivering the power needed. It was much easier to manipulate on the lower 1/3 of the SL convertible. It also worked easily and efficiently on the bumpers... an awkward job for me at best using the TORQ22D. I'd suggest buying the 3" and 5" pads for the TORQX at time of purchase. You WILL want both. The 3" pads were particularly helpful on the bumpers. I've found 5" pads are awkward on bumpers... especially so on the bottom of bumpers. The 3" pads were also helpful on the bottom 2" of the sides. The SL is a low slung 2 seater. The greater ground clearance 3" pads give you is helpful. Make something shine today!
I was very impressed with the TORQX and 4 in 1 polish/sealant product. I have never used a polishing machine, but after watching some youtube videos and reading the product descriptions I thought I would try the light clay bar, with the TORQX/ white pad and 4 in 1 polish/sealant keeping in mind I have a 2014 black Ram 2500. I did not think I need much more than those products. After claying areas of my tuck I was surprised how much contamination was on the paint. When I was complete with claying and polishing there was a huge difference from start to finish. The scratch/swirl photo was how the whole truck looked. After using these products it was pretty much like new.
First time I've ever used a machine polisher and I have zero complaints. I had very little guidance on how to use it just instructional videos of detailers and chemical guys and it was a great experience. Would recommend to anyone making the jump to a machine polisher.
I just got my Torq X because my porter cable 7424 XP head broke. Compaired to the PC the Tourq X is hands down 10 times better. The vibration is 60% less than the PC. Feels great to use I would no doubt buy this again and recommend it. The motor sounds amazing not too loud but just enough to do what you need it to do. Very smooth machine. Im going to be buying the 10 FX next and make this DA my deticated 3 in DA. Thanks CG!
I purchased the Torqx orbital polisher to use on my own vehicles. This model is light weight but has plenty of power. It has a nice long cord so you don't have to drag out an extension cord when you want to use it. Overall I am very happy with this purchase and with all the products I have ordered from Chemical Guys too.
Thought my hood was toast but this brought it back to life!
I knew this polisher would be great to apply products and it's a must have for black vehicles! However I didn't expect this fantastic result! Amazing!
This tool made polishing and glazing my small cars a breeze. On my large car, it made it a whole lot easier and faster, as well as rendering MUCH better results than the last time I applied polish, which was BY HAND.
Bought this machine as a 1st time user of da polisher. Using it i got great results on a Lexus suv that came into our shop with light scratching and swirl marks. The only problem with the machine is the speed control is too easily changed while operating the machine. I found while operating my hand would hit the adjustment dual while using causing an increase in pad speed. Great machine despite this flaw.. should have speed lock for the dial.
I'm a hobbyist and this little buffer is all I need. Although it tends to heat up after a few panels. But it never cut off and got all the holograms off my girls car so she and I were happy
