Delo 400 is the standard for marine HD oils; I've been running it in boat diesels for years and never had a failure. It's also very common at west coast fuel docks so people can pick up a little extra when they are out if they find themselves low. I won't step foot in a wallmart other than to buy this oil from them a couple times a year. When you buy 20 gallons plus at a time, you have to pay attention to the price and wallmart beats everybody else by at least 50 cents a gallon. I only wish they carried the 5 gallon buckets.
Yes, that is correct, I used three 2.5 gallons (10 Quarts ) to break in my recent 964 Cam Shaft update to my 3.2. Highly recommended by several 911 engine rebuilders. First Break In Cycle, 20 Minutes at 2000 RPMs, very little metal particles but filthy on the drain magnet. ( Only needed 10 quarts, because front oil cooler kept 2 qts of old oil up front ) 2nd Cycle, 50 Miles, with engine braking up to 4000RPMs, NO metal particle and clearer drain. Currently 30 miles into the last and final Cycle of the 1000 mile hard use up to redline 6850 RPMs. Car is super quick and engine is very quiet due probably due to the lighter weight oil 15W40 vs my Valvoline VR1 20W50 Conventional Racing Oil. Curious to see how VR1 compares on Oil Dump but it will take 2-3 changes to get all the Delo out. it is 1 14 quart system that always keeps 2 quarts of old oil in the front cooler.
Great product would like it back in stores
Use this on my 2007 Chevy Classic duramax. It's all I use. Never had a problem. I tow a travel trailer probably 15 times a year.
I sure like the home delivery of this product. Beats fighting the crowd at the local store. Of course, Delo 400 sets the standard for Diesel engine oil.
I would have bought the oil in the store, but it's $5 cheaper on line having it delivered to my house which doesn't make sense to me. But I love the oil, have used it in my semi truck and it stopped using oil, have used it ever since then.
Good but if you're buying in bulk for an 18 wheels sams club is a few bucks cheaper but not by much maybe 20$ For 30 gallons but ay still beats any other store
One of six, 2 1/2 gallon containers of motor oil leaked badly. FedEx driver had to see the oil soaked box. These are shipped laying down and the caps are frequently not secure. Although it is excellent diesel motor oil, at a good price, losing 1 of 6 reduces savings too much.
2 1/2 gallon jugs do not need to be put in a box especially if it doesn't say which side is up I only got half of what I ordered and it was just throw down sideways in the backyard did you get a refund? Thanks for that can't give photo is been two weeks now since I got to do the review
Delo is great oil. My one star is specifically for the terrible decision of Chevron to get rid of the rear handle on the 2.5 gal jugs. A lot of mechanics are cursing the name of the penny-pincher who made that call.
