This is my first chi that i ever bought with my own money and my mom has one she's had for over 5 years and it still works. It's not chi air but the same brand and i was amazed at how fast this straightened my hair and how smooth it made it feel and it makes hair very shiny and the best part is after i straighten my curls and waves out the next day i can keep the iron on a low heat setting and it still makes a difference and there's no smell. It does leave a slight burning smell when turned all the way up but on the lower settings it doesn't but it's a straightener it's not supposed to smell like roses anyways if u want pin straight soft shiny hair without tons of time and effort then you'll love this straightener i definitely don't regret buying it i hope this helps everybody who reads it and God bless c:

I have wanted to try this for Chi brand for a few years now but just didn't buy into a hair straightner for $100....ended up getting this Chi Air for a present today & in LOVE with it. I normally buy my straightners at a beauty supply store & have had a variety over the years and I use them daily with no issues...but until you use this one, it seriously puts the others to shame!

I was in the salon getting my hair treated and styled as usual. I had been wanting to buy a good flat iron, so, I asked my hairdresser what thermal straightener she was using since I was in the market for one. She told me "It's a CHI and I have had mine now for a little over 2 years. I use it ALL the time and have experienced no problems with it." I thought 'WOW, that's pretty good, especially with her being a hairdresser and seeing so many clients on pretty much a daily basis'. I finally got up the nerve to make my well researched purchase and I am SO GLAD I DID! I purchased the CHI 1" Ceramic Flat Iron, have had it for over 5 years, and it still works GREAT!!! Although I do not use my CHI every single day, I feel that it has held up very well considering the amount of time I've owned it. I sometimes get stopped in the mall by folks running the kiosk for some thermal straightener and, when asked, I always tell them I use/have a CHI. They tell me they have "something better". I always reply "NO, YOU DON'T!"

Hair straighteners are something I always spend a little extra on to get a great model. I mainly use this to smooth and curl hair. Get this item! Pictured is my typical somewhat-curly work hair using the Chi straightener.

This is my second CHI flat iron. My previous one broke, so bought a new one. This working better than my old one. I have thick hair, i could do my hair in 15mins. i loved it!!

I still use this straightener over my Remington. However, I was surprised when I compared the two straighteners. It is disappointing that the cheaper one has auto shut-off and a lock mode so when I pack it away it is clamped together and not springing apart. As far as I can tell, the Chi Air does not have either of these features. Thus, I expected all features included for the price. Also, I only can notice a slight improvement in the actual straightening. My hair does have less breakage. Slightly disappointed.

I returned this product back, It needs a huge power and lot time to get the best result, regarding that my hair is soft and long. It took me about 2 hours to finish my hair So Bad experience.

My CHI was good when it worked. Both flat iron and dryer only lasted a little over a year. I called the company but they wouldn't warranty without box and/or receipt. Of course I didn't keep it, thinking it was a good brand. Will go back to more affordable brand; they are just as good and half the price. I have thick hair. Had to do little sections with this flat iron, fyi...
