In my 70yrs have purchased many styles. My fav was chefs knife, but had plastic handle, which I melted on glass stove top. Ordered this to replace awful chefs knife in block set with knives I ordered. This brand to me is the best. Stays sharp for a long time, and comfortable to use. I very seldom give 5 star reviews. Good value too. Would have paid more.
Love the knife and just what I wanted. Use it all the time. You might think a bigger knife would be more dangerous, but actually, it is way safer. Arrived sharp, and hit it with my steel every once in a while and it is good to go. And the price was superb, and glad I didn't spend 2 to 3 rimes more, as for the average person, this is more then adequate.
I bought Chicago Cutlery Walnut Tradition 8-Inch Chef's Knife for my husband for father's day and gave it to him early so he could use it right away and he loves it. He says it balanced with perfection, a much lighter knife than our previous one and cuts through whatever we throw at it
The knife dulled quickly. It's not as sharp as it was. It lost its edge too quick.
It is very sharp, but light. it needs more heft to get five stars.
Terrible quality, cheap made in China copy. If you are looking for that excellent quality of an old Chicago Cutlery knife, buy a Ludwig Schiff instead, these were good knives but now they are made in China, poor quality, no weight, poor balance, low grade wood that won't last many washings. Don't waste your money unless you want a cheap low quality knife, but there are many other options!
